Dress codes for Signature Restaurants

Question, this will be our first trip eating at the signature restaurants and I saw they have a dress code. My question is, how strict are they? We just got back from our honeymoon at Sandals where they too had a dress code so I packed for me and DH, when we got there, we realzied that they did not enforce the dress code at all and my DH was very annoyed that we looked very over dressed compared to the people in flip flops and t shirts. So I don't pack 3 outfits a day, could someone let me know what you have worn and what is and is not accepted? Thanks!

The only one I have eaten at is the Royal Table and I wore a t-shirt and shorts. I saw a man at the table next to me wearing a tank top and really shouldn't have been, if you know what I mean. I think you are OK wearing whatever is appropriate attire to wear around the parks for the day. They can't expect you to run back to your resort in the middle of the day to change clothes for a mid-day ADR at the castle.

CRT is different, dress codes dont really apply!

As for places like cali grill, yachtsman, jiko, narcosse, citricos etc. dress code is meant to be strict but you will always see someone not obeying it!

Disney business casual is different than most places (but then Disney is different  )

Appropriate -

Dress shorts
Dress pants
Jean pants
Collared shirts
Blouses
Sweaters
Sundresses that are not too revealing

T-shirts (clean and with no sayings or pictures that could be deemed offensive)

Not appropriate -

Hats
Swimsuits
Swimsuit cover-up's
Tank tops
Torn clothing
Flip-flops

Leather sandals, deck shoes and clean sneakers (not all torn up) and dress shoes are acceptable footwear.
Signature restaurants in the park do not have a dress code so park attire is fine. They do expect people dining in the more expensive restaurants to "clean up" a bit after a day in the park. :lookaroun

I will say that I wore a tank top with wide shoulder straps not spaghetti straps with a cotton skirt and leather sandals to the Yachtsman (as did my girls) and we were fine. You may want a light sweater as well. The DH wore Dockers and a polo shirt with deck shoes and fit right in.
Relax and enjoy!

V&A has the strictest code, and I think they will deny you access if you don't meet it. The others are more just business casual. I have seen people wearing suit coats at Jiko, but most people pull off a polo/dress shorts or dress type outfit. The ones in park are a bit more lax, Brown Derby especially, but I do plan on at least bringing a polo for Bistro de Paris on our next trip instead of my normal t-shirt.

Yes, they have a Formal Attire dress code and that is strictly adhered to.

I once saw a women dressed to the nine at the Concourse Steakhouse, silk dress, fur wrap, diamonds...the works!

One thing to remember, the air conditioning is sometimes pretty high, I always take at least a thin long sleeved top of some kind. But I feel the cold more than most!

Thanks for the replies. Since we are going in March its not like we will be wearing short shorts and tank tops, but I wanted to make sure I'd be okay in nice jeans and nice shirt, and the DH always wears nice shorts and polo shirts anyway. This makes packing much less stressful than the honeymoon!!!

I've eaten to the Yachtsman three times and always stuck to the dress code, unfortunatley you will come accross someone who will be dressed like he's just come off Splash Mountain. Sneekers, white socks pulled up, shorts, pack, t-shirt.

Although im sure they wont turn people away, i could see the server felt unhappy serving him. What makes this guy so special that he does not have to stick to a dress code unlike everyone else ?

Sorry if this sounds like a rant but i hate this kind of thing. If you are going to a resturant which REQUIRES a dress code, stick to it. :brick:

ate at the brown derby in '08... from what i was told there was a dress code and everyone in my group followed the dress code.

however, while we were there, we were practically the only ones that did follow the dress code. i wondered if there was a dress code there or not. it didn't ruin my dining experience though. i enjoyed it, the meal was delicious and our waiter did a great job.

I dunno, you do gotta give people a pass in WDW because not everyone can go to their hotel room, change and go eat. I have a reservation out there for Yachtsman and if it happens to be luke warm that day I'll probably be in a T-shirt and jeans but then if its warm I'll probably be wearing a T-shirt and khakis and shorts.

Now perhaps I should cancel my reservation(I have another reservation for artist point which the same also applies for) but yachtman is much farther from my home resort (poly) so going back and changing for dinner is not really practical and I think Disney realizes this. If you happen to be staying in the Epcot area then changing might be no issue and you can enjoy going out dressed up.

I am not posting this saying that it is acceptable to wear Khaki shorts and t-shirts or jeans and t-shirts to these signature restaurants. I am actually looking for feedback, but I Disney realizes that not everyone wants to spend an hour going to and from their resort to get dressed up.
