Dress Code?

Disney business casual.. Clean jeans, dockers, dress pants. Polo shirt, button down and actually, a clean t shirt with no slogan or logo is allowed now. No dirty ripped sneakers, but nice leather dress sandals are allowed. Most men I see wear boat shoes or something similar.
For women its nice jeans, dress pants, skirt or dress. No spaghetti strap shirts, no flip flops, dirty jean or tees or swim wear allowed for either.

Thank you very much! That is perfect! I was just really worried that I would have to pack a suit! That would be too much for my luggage!

The only place that requires a suit on-property is Victoria & Albert's. (At least until the Four Seasons opens... :lookaroun )

Are dressy shorts allowed for women? (chino style) How about for men? My Dh only has chino/Docker style shorts but needs to know if he needs to pack more pants.

We are going to a few of the Signature places in Sept and I need to know how much I need to bring.....Thanks so much!

As posted on this site (and many others)...

Business casual :
• Dress shorts
• Dress pants
• Jean pants
• Collared shirts
• Blouses
• Sweaters
• T-shirts

Not permitted by this dress code is:

• Hats
• Swimsuits
• Swimsuit cover-up's
• Tank tops
• Torn clothing
• Flip-flops

Basically, the signature restaurants (the more expensive, 2 credit places) are more upscale and do not wish to see people wandering in from a long day at the park without taking the time to "tidy up" a bit. I have seen people turned away who just came from the parks (still had their shopping bags, overheated and tired) turned away, but I have also seen them seated (after the dress code was explained) waaay in the back away from everyone else. Then again I have seen women in cocktail dresses, expensive jewelry and the like and men in suits at the Concourse Steakhouse.

It says "flip flops", but leather thong type sandals are ok for women, just not the rubber go to the pool kind.

You would be fine in what you have. My DH usually wears Dockers and a polo or button down when we go out to dinner at home (OliveGarden, TGIFridays and the like) so thats how he always dresses for dinner at WDW.

Although there is a dress code it is not really enforced. We had booked an adr and yatchmens ln December and my husband and I did go above and beyond but it was our only dinner alone, I was in a black dress and he did have a nice suit on. Anyway they were letting in people who did not follow the code. I saw torn jeans and sweat suits and lots of flip flops. I was very upset we had followed the dress code and more and And i know that they can not refuse service to anyone but I just wish people would follow the codes after all these are top notch restaurants and the service is amazing. It really is worth the extra time to dress nicely.

Thanks, Tigsmom!

I plan on cleaning up before we go to dinner (I couldn't imagine going to Yachtsman straight from the park....yuck!), but didn't know if I had to pack dresses for each meal and dress pants for my DH. Good to know we can wear shorts if it is hot. I plan on dressing up more for our ressie at The california Grill.....I have some great summery dresses I can wear!

Dress code in all of Orlando (almost)

The only place that requires more than causual on property is Victoria and Alberts. But in central Florida, there are very few places with strict dress codes and almost none of them are near Disney (except for a few hotels). I have been to some of the best places in Orlando and you will jeans up suits. In almost every place else, you will see shorts and up. Basically, no swim suits, no barefeet, and you must have a shirt (guys of course). It has been that way for over 30 years. Just relax and enjoy and wear what you are comfortable with.

I'm with Figment and don't think I've ever seen anyone turned away for dress code (resort restaurant like Jiko or CaliGrill, or park restaurant like Bistro or a park event like P4TS) but I guess it does happen.

My only caution on this is that while yes Florida can be hot, I've found most signature places to be well cooled. I wear nice Capri pants, a long sleeve blouse or bring a sweater, just in case. FWIW.
