140 kids are at the airport right now waiting to board their air canada flight to Orlando! This is specifically for one full day in the magic kingdom and flying back tonight ( from halifax, Nova Scotia, canada) For those of you who don't know this great trip is put on by Air Canada, where all expenses are paid for the day for these kids (who most likely would never experience disney) to experience the magic of the magic kingdom! I just want to wish them all a safe and magical day :) if your a cast member or in the magic kingdom today make sure you say hi and thank you to the volunteers for supporting these kids! I personally know two kids going and can't wait to hear about their trip!

Wow!! What a super cool thing! My respect pea out to Air Canada. We need more of this stuff...more special things like this for our children.

I'd love to hear how their experience was...would you mind reporting back after the two kids tell you about their trip?

I wish I could be there to see all of this excitement. How awesome! Simply, most gloriously awesome!

Of course! So far all I know is: all kids needed to be at the airport for 3:30am, they checked in and were provided shorts, t-shirt and crocks with mickey pins. They were broken into their groups (groups of 8kids for 4 adults;some of the chaperones meet on the ground in Orlando). The kids were not allowed to bring anything, no games or snacks for the the trip.everything is provided! The flight left at 5:30am (we are one hour ahead of Orlando) and it is a 3 1/2 hour direct flight! They will have disney busses meet them at the airport and take the, directly to the magic kingdom for a day filled with fun, along with lunch at Crystal Palace! Th flight leaves around 9:00pm Orlando time and they arrive in halifax at 1:00am! Going to be a long day for sure ! There is also a photographer and the kids are each provided with a scrapbook :)

I. Would love to be a chaperone to! But it's all put on by air canada employees. Al the chaperones are employees of air canada who volunteer their time, the pilots and flight attendants , ground crews etc! They also do a ton of fundraising for this organization so everything else is paid for( airport fees, fuel, all meals and snacks, souvenirs -stuffed mickeys and ears are common in pictures I've seen from past years -, bus transfers, park tickets, sunscreen, scrap books for each child, clothing, crocks, hats. They have a Facebook page "dreams take flight atlantic" , there's lots of pictures from past years trips!

This is so wonderful!! Just reading it gave me goosebumps! What great news to read when such horrible things are put into the press.

I've been so busy I forgot to update! The kids landed at 1:11am the next day, they had been almost awake for 24 hours, they were exhausted! The kids had been each given a "dreams take flight" blanket and book bag. The bag had activities, pillow, disney DVD -one had LILO and stich and the other had mickeys Christmas and an autograph book. Once they arrived they were each given $75 for souvinears! All their main meals were paid for and snacks! They had great weather, hit the rides and all had lunch at crystal palace! Each kid is also sent a scrapbook and DVD of the trip! By the looks of pictures on the Facebook group fun was had by all..
