Okay, heres the skinny:

Basically you get the ultimate park hopper pass for length of stay, and hotel reservations. You also get

Two FREE souvenir Disney trading pins and lanyards per room
One of the following FREE Choice Features per room (the one Choice Feature chosen must be used by all Guests in a room at the same time and at the same location)

One round of miniature golf at Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course or Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course
One storytelling experience at Epcot (advance reservations required and subject to availability
Up to two images displayed on one Leave A Legacy tile at Epcot.

so there is the deal. NOW, here is my question, for an additional $67 per night, i get a

"menu of dining, recreation and other Magical Wishes. It includes everything in Disney's Dream Maker Package, plus two Magical Wishes features per person, per night. Choose from a menu of dining, recreation, Theme Park tours, merchandise and more"

IS THIS WORTH IT? or should i just forget this and go a la carte again this year. The dates of our travel will be the 19th through the 24th of september. Last year they ran a great deal called the fall fling. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. I love input :) Oh, and one more question. how do these points work? we each receive two points right? so, i can choose two things, providing they dont cost 2 points, and my wife can do the same?

I'm a big fan of a la carte.

Ultimate Park Hoppers (I really prefer the older, but more descriptive term "Length of Stay Passes") don't make sense if you are arriving late in the day or leaving early your last day. We fly, so we are somewhat at the mercy of the airlines (last trip our 6 PM return flight got changed to 3 PM--grrrrrrrrr  )

If, for example, we landed at MCO at 4 PM, figure an hour by towncar, (2 hours by Mears) to the hotel, it's now 5-6 PM. I'm not sure of the hours in late Sept, but it is likely that MK will close by 7. World Showcase will be about the only thing open till 9. In that case, I would get settled in the hotel, then head to Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana for dinner and early to bed -- no parks at all.

I did a bunch of research and priced the Magic wishes out and couldn't make it be much of a bargain for my family. $67 per day is a lot to spend on 2 meals -- you will feel obligated to have big sit down meals every day. This may be your choice. Do NOT use 2 wishes on fast food--split a meal and get a snack later (IMHO).

The way I understand the 2 wishes per day is that you can "save" them and use all 12 in one day, if you wish. You are not required to use 2 per day.

My advice is to think about what things you would want to spend your wishes on, then check the price. It might be worth it for you.

My wife and I priced out package vs a la carte for our anniversary trip this past October. I need to redo this for the new plans but I'm gonna bet they come out close to the same.

The diference we found between the Discovery Magic plan (now known as the Dream maker silver) was close to $30 extra per "magic wish".

We love to go to the resort restaruants and planned on spending most of our wishes there. Since most of the nice restaurants go for two wishes per person, my wife and I knew we sure weren't going to be spending $120 for a meal (at least before alcohol was added).

Also if you aren't planing on going to any of the water parks or Disney Quest or Pleasure Island, you can step back to the Park Hopper pass. This can even save you a certain amount over the basic Dream Maker Package.

So look at what you'ld use your wishes for. When we looked at what each wish cost, we couldn't find anything that you could redeem them for that was worth more than what one wish cost.

IMHO no, this is not worth the extra money. When it was called the Discovery Magic Package and the "wishes" were only $30 more, yes it was worth it. You could go and order a dinner at the Yachtsman like surf and turf which I think runs around $59 and you get your appetizer and desert and drinks(non-alcoholic) and use your wish and not have to pay the difference. Now some of the more expensive restaurants require that you use 2 wishes for the meal and it doesn't even out. You end up losing money.
