Has anyone used this app? It's supposed to be a Disney transportation app and I wanted to check to see if it was downloading and using. TIA

I just checked out their Google Play page. It's impossible for this app to be useful. They're trying to simulate what Touring Plans' LINES app does for wait times, but TP has millions of bits of historical data to pull from, plus a huge user base of reported "real time" information, plus their own boots on the ground.

Disney transportation is so haphazard, it's impossible to even attempt to predict when a bus will arrive at any given depot. And even with user feedback, it won't serve any purpose in predicting when a bus will arrive on a future day.

Great concept, but not feasible. Disney just needs to get their monitors rolled out at the rest of the resorts and depots. They work great at the few deluxe resorts that have them already.

Which resorts already have them?

Kidani Village has new the bus monitor boards, but Jambo did not have the monitor boards. We loved knowing the Times and they were actuate. They should include the bus times in MDE app and save the cost of installing and maintaining the monitors.

Now if they could only scan our magic bands at the resort bus depots to see the demand for each park based on our reservations on our bands, transportation would have it easy..:D

They could use the Magic Bands to dispatch and forecast on-demand needs. For instance, there could be short-range readers (i.e. like turnstiles and FP pods) at each resort bus stop. One guest in each part walks up, scans their band, and taps a destination on a touch screen.

They could dispatch buses according to need and demand, and prevent the scenario where 4 DHS buses come but nothing for the MK for 45 minutes (this is a real example from our last trip.....on several occasions).

There's so much potential with their bus control system, and coupled with the endless potential of MM+ technology, they could streamline so many systems. Not only would it provide significantly better guest service (since the current bus system has plenty to be desired), but it would cut down on their costs. So, maybe something they'd actually consider.

Interesting! Thanks for the replies guys. We're staying AKL Jambo so I guess we won't have the benefit of the monitors ...this trip anyway. I totally agree about them utilizing the MM+ technology for both efficiency and guest convenience. Hopefully that's something they'll get around to sooner rather than later.

I was kind of guessing DPart was trying to use a similar system as touring plans does but wasn't sure. It was free on iTunes as I'm always looking for good free apps in relation to WDW. Maybe I'll test it out in December if something official isn't already in place by then.

Interesting....it's $0.99 on Google Play.

Incase your wondering what the wait times tv screen looks like. Here's a photo from the port orleans fan site..While this is good it would have been nice if they did add wait times on the My Disney Experience App...But, I'm sure down the road it might be put on there..

Absolutely possible - if there were a drawback to MB's, it would be that dispatch attempts to be PREDICTIVE rather than REACTIVE... but read bands for year, and the PREDICTIVE part should get yards better. I think they would need actual "Mickey Heads", though, as many of the resort stops (GF comes to mind) don't have any specific destination "areas".

Definitely. Walk up, scan your band, tap the number in your party, tap your destination, done. And you're right...a year or more of data and it would begin to have great predictive behavior.

It was being tested not that long ago. Wasn't a very long test though. Never made it to the MDE app. Let's only hope it does!
