Downtown or hotel breakfast?

Hello all,

I will have a morning to kill after my DLR trip next month before I catch the bus to John Wayne. Where is a good breakfast either at Downtown or the hotels? I'm not the character breakfast type.

Thanks!

Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel does an excellent breakfast. Kind of swanky, but definitely not the loud n' crazy Character type place. Comfy chairs and booths, white table cloths, and big black and white pictures on the walls of Walt and friends dining in swanky supper clubs and night clubs in Hollywood's golden age. But don't worry, they airbrushed all of the cigarettes out of all the photos so as not to offend your fragile 21st century sensibilities!

Shocking. I expect you to know everything about DLR. ;)

Hahaha, you'd think so! I'm not a tourist, I'm a local, so I experience the park differently. I don't stay in the hotels, I sometimes eat before I get to the parks and I don't have breakfast at Downtown Disney.;) For me, going to Disneyland is like going to the mall or the movies (all three of which I love).:D

Depending on where you're staying exactly, Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel does an average quick-service breakfast option that'll do the job. Steakhouse 55 certainly does a great, though slightly pricey option. Of course all 3 of the hotels have a buffet for breakfast. Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel is what you'd expect from a Disney buffet: a bit of everything, a little cartoony of a setting though. A more upscaled buffet breakfast is at the Grand Californian at Storyteller's Cafe: buffet but with fancier items. I can't give any claim to Paradise Pier's PCH Grill, but I imagine its no different than Goofy's.

I think that's my pick right now. I want to hang out in that area until my bus leaves for John Wayne and quick service might be best. Work out the post-DLR depression. The good news is I fly to Vegas to visit my sister for a second vacation. :)

Thanks everyone!

So envious! I could kick myself (now) for not spending more of my time off in the Parks when I worked at WDW.
