If you see Holiday Inn and freak out b/c you know it will be cheap, don't even bother. That hotel was until the 2nd week in January a Courtyard by Marriott (which I work for up here in NC). Marriott sold the hotel b/c it's terribly in need of new floors and renovation. It was cheaper for them to see it than to fix everything wrong with it.
The cats down there that were staying employed during the switch said that at that point, Holiday Inn was going to just change everything inside to their logo without fixing anything b/c that is the perfect area for a hotel and they wanted to start making money. Then they called me again a week later saying that they didn't pass their inspection and they'll be doing complete renovations for quite a while now.
If you're looking to go soon, take Holiday Inn off your list!
