Downtown Disney Parking

In light of the construction going on Downtown and the parking lot closures (including this post) I'm wondering if anyone has been that way recently and can give some feedback on how crazy, if at all, parking has become. It was always absolutely nuts trying to park there, especially at night, and now with the lots closed for the work they are doing I'm wondering if we need to find alternate transportation if we intend to do anything down there on this next trip in December. Just any thoughts/opinions on the current state of parking Downtown would be lovely. Thanks all!

EDIT: I'm specifically talking about the Marketplace side (vs. parking on the old PI side and walking).

I always park by House of Blues. Never had a problem - even on concert event nights.

Still park at house of blues and have a nice walk in the Florida weather. Its not that far.

We were there the afternoon of the 31st...parking was easy. Parked right behind the T-Rex. There were hundreds of empty parking places.

Park by Cirque and take the boat from Westside to the Marketplace. That is what we always do.

On Friday and Saturday nights it has been pretty bad. Basically don't even try to park by Marketplace, just head straight for the Cirque lot.
