Double drinks on the Disney dining plan?

Hey everybody! I just got done watching a new video from Disney food blog. They mentioned that when on the Disney dining plan you are able to get double drinks at most restaurants. For example an adult beverage and soda. Or specialty beverage and soda. Can anyone explain how this works and what restaurants allow this?

hmmm.. not to sure about the blog you watched when I was there last time I had the dining plan and I asked at a few locations and it was a pop or alcohol. Specifically at Flame Tree bbq in Animal Kingdom I had to pay for the addition of the pop. Hope this helps have a great trip.

Not sure about double drinks but I noticed that I could order water as my “drink” and I could still order an alcoholic drink at no extra charge. I’m assuming that water didn’t count as my “official” drink on the plan.

I’ve been offered double. I don’t really drink so I didn’t take close note. I know at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey they offered it to me.

I've always had it one or the other. I have had them let me get a 2nd alcoholic drink with my son's dining credit then we pay for a soda

I think Quick Service is very different to Table Service. Quick service places will give you exactly what you are entitled to and that's it, whereas a server at a table service the server can use their discretion to offer additional soft drinks.

Don't forget iced tap water is free at quick service and table service.

I just returned and used the dining plan. I ordered an alcoholic drink and a soda with every meal and was not charged. Edit: these were table service meals

Glad this was asked. I saw the same vid and felt a little confused.. We are on the DDP for an end of September trip and literally doing a character meal every single day.. (ugh I know... kids... 🙃 ) If I have the option to get an adult beverage at those meals (for no extra charge) , I will be beyond thrilled....

Not sure if you mean additional alcoholic drinks but I know even Quick Service includes one alcoholic drink too:

  • Guests under 21 years of age can choose one non-alcoholic beverage with their Quick Service and Table Service meal (including specialty beverages — i.e. Artisanal Milk Shakes, Fresh Smoothies, Premium Hot Chocolates, or Soda, Coffee or Tea — where offered). Guests 21 and older can can choose either one non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered) or one single serving mixed cocktail, beer, or wine (where offered) within their meal entitlement.

DDP plan now includes one single serving alcoholic drink with your meal. Often at table service you can get a soda in addition, although it is not guaranteed.
