Double and triple posting

Can someone explain to me if this is accepted or just clutter and people trying to improve post counts?

Frowned upon, but sometimes it's a nooby that thinks posting the same thread in different forum areas will get it seen by more people.

If you see it, you can use the report function to bring it to a Mod's attention.
