I got a 40% off Universal "Pin Code" for the onsite hotels, and I cancelled our WDW vacation and am booking one of those..... Don't get me wrong, I love WDW, but we need a change, and I'm just sick of all this FP+ crap and having to book EVERYTHING so far out. I realize that UNI is going in the same direction, but they aren't there yet, so I still have some time to be a bit spontaneous. We will wait till the dust settles on all the changes at WDW, and visit next year or the year after.

Thank you for the info. It sounds wonderful. I will be calling the Portofino today to check and see if it is available when we want to go.

If you can't get Portofino, Royal Pacific is also extremely nice. Both are about the same distance from the parks (easy 5 minute or so walk for two adults...10 with kids in tow)

I agree with other's statements about Hard Rock though...compared to Portofino and Royal Pacific, it just doesn't stand up (unless you are really into the gimmick).

That being said, that's where I'll be staying in October, but that's only because my group will have 3 kids in tow!
