Just recently purchased our first dog camera to see what the pooches are doing when home alone. We all have the app to bring up the camera view from our phones. You can rotate the cam from your phone, take videos, and pics. There's also a speaker/microphone in it. Price was $35. We'll probably get a few more to place around the house.

Are they wireless? If so, make sure you're using a brand that continues to provide security updates and support otherwise before you know it other people will be watching your dogs too.
Bought it on Ebay. xx CAM. I thought I made a mistake when it came in. It looked cheap, and the instructions were very brief. My wife set it up in 10 minutes. It works great. Forgot to mention that it also has night vision so I could do some ghost hunting !
