Does Early Arrival Hurt Your Room Request?

Next trip is about 50 days away. I've been many times, so I really don't need the whole front desk "experience". I've been thinking about checking in online and doing the direct-to-room thing. We'll most likely be driving overnight and arriving before noon on our check-in day. I'm staying at Pop, and I really, really want a room in the 60s; there's where I was on my last trip and I absolutely loved it. So, my only concern is that if they see someone arriving early, they might try to "accommodate" the guest by getting them in a room early, even if it isn't exactly what they requested. Is your request or your arrival time more important?

If you arrive early and do direct-to-room, it should have no impact. Just don't expect your room to be ready. If at online check-in, you note that having a room ready early is most important to you, they may not be able to fulfill your original request. Do you have a preferred room?

We had a room on the third floor of building 4 last time, and it was perfect. The standard rooms are the ones that face the lake, and we could see Illuminations. My ideal room would be somewhere on the third or fourth floors in building 4 so we could possibly see Illuminations again, but I would happily take anything in the 60s to be close to AoA, Classic Hall, and the main pool.
