Does Driving Make Rides Less Cool?

Hey everyone, I got to thinking about this and I had to post a thread about it. I'm currently in Drivers Ed. and in the process of learning how to drive. About 2 days ago, while sitting in the classroom watching a "don't drink and drive" video, I looked out the window to watch the students that were in the cars at the time. They were driving slowly since they were new at this, around the course. Well, while watching them go by I couldn't help but think of Disney's rides. This got me wondering if once I learn to drive these types of rides will no longer amuse me, because it's like traveling in a little car. Has anyone experienced a less-fun-than-before ride after learning how to drive? Just curious...
Thanks

Tomorrowland Speedway comes to mind, but everything else seems just as fun. I think Disney Transportation actually becomes more fun after you have drove for a few years. :animwink:

Being able to drive wont change a thing. I dont even equate the two.

And pay attention in class in the future dont go staring out of the window day dreaming about Disney, think of your edjakaeshun.

I was thinking about this a bit and for me I rode the Speedway before I ever got my DL at 16 and haden'r been back untill I went in '93 and of cource by then I had been driving for 14 years and was 30 at that time so it was a totaly diffrent experience for me , but I'm not sure if it was age or my real life driving experiences but it was diffrent for me in 93

Rides are still fun to me because I am NOT driving. The thrill of being behind the wheel of a car will wear off of you in time. Just be responsible. And enjoy Disney.

honestly it makes them more fun...for example Indy Speedway in Tomorrowland is like 100 times more fun now that i drive all the time b/c it is NOTHING like driving for real :-)

After Mom & or Dad tell you to go here and there get milk and bread and you drive about the same distance the astronauts did when they went to the moon. You’ll be begging to be driven around. Tomorrowland Speedway becomes better than before because you can finally relax when diving I whish I-95 had a track for me to ride on.

personally, I really hate driving. The novelty of it all wore off after the first week of having my liscense. It's just a pain in the butt now, so I enjoy rides because they're not... well, they're not driving.

I don't think the two are really related...

Driving certainly doesn't make any rides less fun for me. It might make some feel a little different...Indy Speedway for example. As a kid, its the only way you get to drive and you tend to try to drive as well as you can. As an adult, its kinda fun to screw around while driving on the track, since you can't do that while driving in real life.

No, but once you get your license to Time Travel rides like Carousel of Progress are less fun. For instance, no one ever named their dog "Queenie." And don't get me started on Horizons. Nobody in the future could tell me the safety rules for scuba diving.

actually it's more fun, because when you learn to drive you learn to be in controll. when you ride a ride you suddenly get a little nervious because you are conciously aware that you are NOT in controll.

It all depends on how you drive. Big difference between "Driving Miss Daisy" and "The Fast and the Furious." :animwink:
