Does Disney Put A Hold On Credit Cards Before Making A Large Payment?

Hello everyone. This is my first time visiting the site so I hope I have posted in the appropriate place.

My husband and I are planning a Disney World trip for January/February 2022. This is our first time planning our own Disney World trip, so we're new to the whole thing. We've slowly been chipping away at the balance due for our resort/ticket package.

I've made all past payments with a debit card and never had any issues. These payments were all smaller increments (in the hundreds).

Today I made a $500 payment on the balance with the debit card and it went through no problem. Later in the day I attempted to make a second payment of $1,500 on a different card, this time a credit card. After the payment processed and it took me to the confirmation page, it said only $20 was charged to the card.

Is this a hold fee Disney is charging before charging the full $1,500 payment? Or was there a glitch of some sort? Like Disney didn't recognize such a large amount and just defaulted to charging $20? (This credit card has a high enough limit that this $1,500 charge wouldn't have exceeded it).

I wanted to ask for insight before attempting to charge the card again in case the $20 was just a hold and the full $1,500 will be charged in the next day or two. We're trying to get this balance paid before it's due in full in December (right at Christmas time).

Thanks in advance for your help.
