Does Disney have different room databases?

I am trying to book a trip for the end of Sept into Oct. Dates I wanted were 9.28 - 10.8

However, I wanted to use either of the packages that are available for then, the Dream Maker package or the discounted 65/85/119 room rates. However, I need to stay at a resort that has high speed internet available. On the discounted room rates, the 65/85/119 rooms are all gone (online at least -- not very surprising). The cheapest available on the Dream Maker is Contemp which is running $3000+ for the stay + tickets, which is a little out of my price range for this trip.

My first question is: If I call, is there a chance there will be rooms available at other resorts that aren't available online?

Yes. Booking online is (generally) a waste of time. It's far better to call WDTC to book a package or CRO to book a room. AAA often has huge blocks of rooms (and smaller blocks of packages) that they have exclusively. Same is true of the large Disney travel agencies. You need to shop around.

Also, the more you tie yourself down with "must haves", leaves you victim to the booking agents. Flexibility is the key to lower costs! Try not to paint yourself into a corner.

Only one must have, and its non-negotiable. I run my own business, and a lot of it has to do with making sure computers are connected to the internet 24/7, so basically logging in to check remotely each day. Since my business partner and I are going on this convention together cough*write*off*cough the high speed is completely necessary.

Ok, so the second question is: I know CRO does mostly rooms, but what does WDTC handle? rooms and tickets? or do they handle the special rate packages as well.

the call center can book both CRO and WDTC. CRO is rooms only and WDTC is packages.

Sounds like you are going to be there for more than 8 days - why not get an AP, then you can also get an AP discount on your room? That would save you lots of money and give you more flexibility about where you stay (though I don't know that all the resorts are wired for high-speed internet yet)
