Does AP discount include snacks at stores where merchandise discount applies?

When I had an AP in 2017, the discounts were expanded for the 45th celebration, and I was able to get discounts on snacks at places like the Confectionary and Big Top Souvenirs. I know that dining discounts have since been changed to be not as inclusive, but there is still a 20% discount on merchandise. Are snacks at the places I mentioned above still able to be purchased with a discount at those locations? I can't find anything online that says either way!

I get the discount on snacks, like Mickey bars, at the gift shop at WL. Go to Roaring Forks and buy a Mickey bar, no discount. So I'd cautiously say yes.

That's what I am thinking. I remember buying a rice krispie treat (my weakness) from Big Top last year and it was discounted. And my cookie from the Confectionary was discounted too. But snack stands were not. Thanks for your insight!

Most things that you buy at the gift shops get the AP discount. Even the water and soft drinks in the bottle that they sell in the coolers gets the discount. It is very inconsistent.
Bought only bottled water in the WL Mercantile and the gift store in Canada and received the AP discount.

Thanks for the responses guys! I think its safe to say most things bought in the stores listed as having a merchandise discount, including food, is included! Thanks!!!

Which is why I try to remember to purchase items available at both a QS and resort gift shop at the gift shop.

We will be staying at the Poly, and if I’m remembering correctly Moana Mercantile had some decent grab and go food options. Nice way to save a little there.

Deluxes that include an on-site DVC resort always have such options - milk, juice, water, alcoholic beverages, breakfast items (eggs, butter, bacon), frozen meals, fresh fruit, bread, snacks, etc. I rarely visit the QS at WL, unless I want their humus peta. Anything I want will be found at the Mercantile in the lobby.
