So just been peeking in now and then
Lol vacationing in Iceland for one but also because I've been wondering if people who still like wdw really belong. Lol no way would I ask this on the theme park šŸ˜… page.
Literally afraid to say we've got a quick 4 day trip planned next month.
Just rambling.....wondering if anyone on this site actually still likes to go?

I still enjoy WDW and I'm looking forward to my trips coming up. I'm well aware of some of the changes and I don't everything that has changed but right now I'm still a fan. I am also looking forward to the couple of days I'll be spending in Disneyland in June too. I guess I'm a pixie-duster.

Did you enjoy Iceland? A friend and I were thinking of going there or Ireland for a girls trip but ultimately decided to stay in the US for the trip. I think Iceland looks beautiful but I'm concerned about the food! Ha! I'm not into eating fish and it seems like that is a main staple. I'm more of a chicken, beef, and pork kind of gal.

You will have absolutely no problem. I had beef tenderloin last night and a ribeye the first night there.
Iceland is beyond beautiful. We ice caving. Because of the lack of O2 in the ice it appears blue20220217_110247.jpg

Wow! Your pictures look great, especially the blue ice. Good to know about the food. I'll keep Iceland on the list of go to places then. Well, technically I have been to Iceland, I flew Iceland Air to Paris and our flight stopped on the way there and back. So I walked on the tarmac at the airport. As we flew over the country it looked nice. We could have stopped over and stayed a day or two but my husband was wanting to get home.

Yeah, I just got back and I'm going again in September. Sure I don't like all of the changes and I have my opinions about the current CEO, but I still enjoy it.

Love it overall. (Yes there are changes I don't care for but when the negatives outweigh the positives I'll stop going like I did with Universal.)
Went last August and November.
Hoping to go again this year but with my sister building a house she claims she can't go. (She really can't afford to go but if she wants to bad enough she can lol)
I may have to meet someone in the wild that wants to go.

I never said I didn't like it, what I have said is that it is no longer worth it to me. I used to love it and I have been thinking about many past family trips from Vermont leaving home on Presidents Day weekend and returning home by the 3rd of March. Many, many happy, and exciting hours and I never went until I was 35 years old. However, the magic is gone or at least the magic that once was there. Thinking about so many years that I started planning the next trip on my way home from WDW. I loved it back then and couldn't wait until the next February to come around.

I owned a Residential Care Home for many years, taking care of Mentally Ill, Mentally Challenged and Physically challenged. I escorted many of them to WDW over the years. So many wonderful memories and fun that cannot be experienced anymore because it would be unaffordable now. The family trips were the best.

I get that but okay let's look at 90% of post after post. Complaining after Complaining, I believe the current two are asking folks to write and complain. I'm just asking if there are people who still like it
And even you must agree that the reception to someone who dares to say they are happy is less than "magical" šŸ˜†
Sorry I mistook all your post complaining as love for the place. šŸ˜

Now it's cool that you no longer feel it's worth it. I do and can't wait to get back I'm just simply looking for those who do

I'm not arguing that fact nor do I care one way or the other if someone else loves the place. All we need to do is understand that this is a discussion board, not an everyone must agree love fest. I and many others are unhappy with the way things are going. This is the largest display of unhappiness that I have witnessed since I started reading the boards. I've been on this one since 2003 but was on others long before that. I don't see where anyone is being or even should be treated magically unless we all must just be in lockstep.

It is not a matter of liking WDW it is a matter of WDW loving back. You are lucky that you can afford to pay the exorbitant cost of a WDW vacation and I think you don't realize just how lucky you are. I have loved the place for years but they priced me out even before they started to charge for things that were once covered by that admittance fee. I have the money but I cannot spend it on things that I no longer find worth it. It angers me that something that I once spent all year planning and saving to do is something I cannot emotionally spend the money on. That's partially because of the dredging of my wallet seems to have no moral limits and you my get enough to say that it is worth what you are spending, but Disney was always targeting giving you more then you allegedly paid for. And lets face it they still made a handsome profit even when that was the general way they did business.

all good, you're right this is a message board and believe me I don't ever think anyone should think like me, quite the contrary, people who do love wdw are a small minority here.
Lovefest?Love fest?? Seriously? Unless you go to the trip report you won't find so much as a lukewarm "meh" description.

I do disagree with your second part. Luck imo is a small part, I think I'm pretty average in that the things I feel are worth the sacrifice that's what I do. I simply don't get "mad" if I can't afford something or if something I once use to do is no longer affordable. I've never ever felt that any business owes me the ability to get their product nor do i think they are bad for charging whatever they want. Why get mad? There are many things and places that have out paced my wallet. Heck simple things like just getting my hair professionally colored are no longer in my budget (just an example)
I'm retired and like other retirees what I have has to last me at the very least 30 years so I'm not dropping thousands of bucks where I'm not happy either.

I'm really not trying to rehash all of this believe me the theme park forum makes it abundantly clear folks views on wdw.

I was simply asking if anyone here still enjoys going to wdw and still plans in doing so.

Again it's all good, believe me I know you're feeling about wdw, definitely not trying to start a debate.

Simple, it feels better then being sad! Disney to many, including me, was a lifestyle. I'm angry that Disney has decided that they need 8 billion in profit instead of the 7 billion they already had. They went past the point of what I could emotionally feel I could justify. Their greed took away something that was really half of what I could do at my age because unlike them, I have to think about the future. I never once said that they didn't have a right to charge whatever the public would allow. Like the first day I stepped foot in the place, 39 years ago, it has been part of me and I now take it personally. I don't expect you to understand, because you limit has not been reached yet and maybe never will. I have the right to my emotions just as you have.

Yes, the trip reports usually reflect happiness and joy, joy, joy as they should because if people hated the experience they probably wouldn't post in that area unless their name is Katie. Here on the normal back and forth you are more likely to run into negative responses and as long as they are civil and not nasty toward anyone in particular, then I don't understand why anyone would think that it is incorrect. At least we aren't parking trucks at the entrance.
