Does anyone of you remember when in MGM studios on New York Street, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles used to drive up in their van and have a little show and then have a meet and greet...I remember it vividly because I was 5 years old, I was a big Ninja Turtle fan...well, I still am and I'm 16 years old:lol:
They should really bring that back to MGM, it was the best!

Does anyone know why they got rid of it?

I don't really remember the Turtles ever really becoming unpopular at the time...when I went back to WDW a couple years later it was gone and I was a little disapointed. I know that's kinda sad but come on...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were still cool at that time:lol: some of you prolly know what I'm talkin' about.

I would guess it had something to do with the fact that the turtles were made by Henson.

Although Ace Ventura was at MGM for a while too. Both TMNT and Ace Ventura are New Line Cinemas??? Was Disney bidding to buy New Line at one time?

I think they are partner companies and Disney just owns it.

No, they don't. I'm sure of that. They do own Dimension and I think Miramax though. New Line is now part of AOL Time Warner. Maybe that's why the Turtles had to leave?

I remember the show. I still have April's autograph around here somewhere in my collection. If I remember correctly they left the Studios because 1) The Turtles were not as popular as they had been and 2) The Pocahontas Stage Show took over its stage.

I remember that!!! I was 5 too... 16 now... That was definately great! I wasn't really upset when it 'disappeared', though, because I had seen it a lot... but I had all the action figures and stuff... those were the days...

I remember that show, I have a picture with a cutout of the TMNT from when they were there. I was thinking about this a few days ago.

I was also remembering the Barbie show they used to have at the stage right in front of the American Adventure at Epcot. I have the video and I have the magazine they gave out with Barbie's autograph on it.

That is SO random! I was just looking through some old pics from when I went in 8th grade and there were pictures of the turtles! My husband was like, "Where was this?!?" I said NY Street...and man did that street used to be busy! Remember the Muppet Stage Show? They were open at the same time. I have pics from that too. If I have time I'll scan them in tonight or some time this week.

I remember the muppet show but not TTMNT

just a little tidbit of info: the green army man van is actually the same van as the TMNT used to ride in

I remember the Turtles being there. That was a great show too, I still think about it everytime I see those Army Men. I too was a big TMNT fan.

Yes i rememberg the TMNT show. I have it on video in my collection somewhere. Their van is now the van that the green army men from Toy Story use. I also remember the ill-fated Goosebumps show.

I am not sure if I remember the Ninja Turtles... it might have been one of those bday party shows here!

(I do remember Ghostbusters though... but that´s another park... hehehe :D )

When was Barbie at Epcot? The only Barbie I remember is Brittney Spears in SNL! :animwink:
