Does anyone ever get startled by the monorail?

Every once in a while at Epcot I will be standing under the monorail beam not even thinking about it mostly after a long day when I'm tired and deep in thought of being mesmerized by the lights and the ambiance and a monorail come barreling over me as I'm under the beam. It's not one of those things you hear coming from in the distance with all the noises around the park and the sound system that pretty much blocks out sounds from surrounding sections of the park. This time around I'm talking along someone who has never been to Epcot and where not going to say anything about the monorail until it comes flying over and where all just going to duck like something horrible is about to happen.

Most of the time I don't even notice them. They don't make a lot of noise as far as I am concerned. Especially with thousands of people around and music playing throughout the area.

I am terrified of them. I will not walk under a beam with a monorail on it. With as many times as I have been on them recently and had to make "emergency stops" that I am certain that something bad is coming involving a monorail.

Quite the opposite; I usually wait for them when taking a photo. One year I made a point of taking photos where if there was a beam in it, there had to be a monorail atop. :p

This would be a great postcard, TBH. Green monorail has always been my favorite since I was little. Because I like green. Also, I always thought of it as the "EPCOT monorail" (whether it was in epcot or not).. I don't know why.. Something about that color.

Isn't that one the lime-o-rail? Great fluorescent colour regardless, maybe hence the futurist association.

My EPCOT monorail will always be the yellow one, based on the classic postcard that adorned my wall way back in 1982, for you young whippersnappers, that's when Lincoln was president:

Thank you! I have it as the desktop background on my 5K iMac at full resolution (18MP shot with a Leica) and it's incredibly detailed... I have to actually print it one of these days!

I like the green one myself as well - coordinates really well in the EC shots too with all the greenery.

Here's one from 2007, where both the monorail and SSE are "decorated." :p

That monorail beam sure is "decorated" with fine black smudge mark "details" as well!
