Does a day at a water park also use up a day at the parks on your tickets?

I've asked CMs over the phone and received two different answers, so I am looking for an answer from someone who perhaps has done this, or at least knows for sure.

Suppose I buy a 7 day ticket with park hopper and water park options. If I go to the parks for 3 days, then go to a water park for one day and do not visit any of the theme parks on the same day that I visit the water park, do I still have 4 theme park days left or 3?

By the same logic, could I buy a 7 day ticket packet with park hopper and water park options and go to the theme parks for 7 days and then go to the water parks only for another 7 days, for a total of 14 days?

The water park options are independent of the park entry. So in your example, you would have 4 theme park days left.

If you buy a 7 day ticket with the water park option, you have 7 main park entry days, and 7 water park entry days, but all must be used within 14 days of first use. So you could do what you suggest with the 7 days in the main parks, and then 7 days at the water parks.

Along with the water park entry, you also get Disney Quest and mini golf.
