Firstly let's not be too explicit here, but let's have the discussion in a civilised manner. I'm sure we all have romantic qualities that we show to our partners in everyday life (and rightly so), but do you find you become a little bit more romantic when in Disney?
I find that on our trips to Disney, it's easier for me to 'appear' more romantic than I usually do. I'm one of those people who is quite capable of ruining a romantic moment accidentally, usually by opening my mouth and allowing words to come out. I sometimes say something romantic but then my brain says "That line was great, keep going as that was gold". I then invariably say something stupid and ruin all the good work I've put in up to that point.
However when we're in Disney World there are so many moments were I can seem romantic towards Mrs Merg with minimal effort. I don't mean that as in I don't want to make the effort, it's just I need less words because of the surrounding environment so there's less chance of me ruining it. For instance I've discovered that standing in front of the castle watching the fireworks, I only have to put my hand on her back and say nothing and it's like a million brownie points for me for being 'Mr Romance'. Contrast that with me doing the same in the supermarket and getting a response of "What do you want now, can't you see I'm choosing what dog worming tablets to buy".
Other 'minimal effort, high reward' moments include holding her hand on the steamboat circling the Rivers of America, sharing a car at the Sc-fi Dine in theater snuggled up, holding her hand on the drop in Pirates and more bizarrely having a photo of both of us with the characters at the Crystal Palace breakfast buffet. I'm sure there's others too but those just stood out as being very rewarding for me .
So is it just me, or do any of you lot have a similar experience?
