Do you think its worth going to extra magic hour mornings at the poly to get more time in the a.m. or do you prefer going it on another day when its less busy?

Ohh btw.. do they do the main street train station opening song an 8am or 9am those days?

We did an EMH at MK and got on ok. Can't remember about the opening ceremony. We did see it one day but I think that was a different morning-we did 2 and a half days at MK. EMH at AK worked out even better and Epcot EMH was good too. We went mid October and didn't feel the parks got too busy but many sites recommend avoiding parks with EMH or getting there early to be one of first in early entry then hopping (if that an option) when it gets busy. We are actually going to try avoiding morning EMH this year and see how we get on. We found morning EMH at HS a waste of time. Never did any evening EMHs but are going to do one at MK now the boys are getting a bit older.

You do mean extra magic hour at the MK, not at the Poly ;)?

Yes, you can see a few attractions with little or no wait in Fantasyland or Tomorrowland during that early hour.

The Welcome Show is performed on the train station platform between 7:45-50 am when the park opens for EMH at 8. Or, as was the case during Easter weeks, 6:50 am for 7 am EMH . (Yes, we were there!)

Morning EMH at MK are great, especially if you can hop elsewhere after the first couple of hours.

The "open" areas at that time are Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, of which Fantasyland has the largest number of attractions with lines that build quickly and stay long all day. In my observation, the people who head to Fantasyland upon their arrival at MK tend to be parents of small children -- the very same people who often have the toughest time getting to a park early, meaning that during morning EMH, Fantasyland is a great place to be. You can get almost all of it done in that hour, before the stroller-pushing hordes arrive (skip Enchanted Tales with Belle and use a FP+ for it later -- it's a fun attraction but too lengthy to be a good choice during a EMH), and be ready and waiting to do the Frontierland and Adventureland headliners at regular park opening.

In the 1 hour at EMH, we did everything we wanted and mosied on over to Adventureland and Frontierland at 9AM. So many people wasted all the time to get attractions in waiting for 7DMT and A&E. I don't have a problem with them doing it because I can get on all of our big rides while they do.
