With the magicbands do AP holders still need to obtain an AP card in order to get the dining and merchandise discounts? I can't remember are these available from guest services at each of the parks?
Thanks!

Yes you do. Occasionally a CM may just apply it, but they are supposed to ask for the card and id too. Same for DVC discounts. You can get the card at any GS at the parks or DS.

Yes. I got asked almost every time to show my AP card and ID. I forgot once and the info on my MB came up in their system. They reminded me to not forget the discount and still show the card and ID.
A couple of weeks ago, I was looking at a dress to purchase at one of the shops in the Contemporary, but I hadn't activated my AP yet. I asked a CM if I needed that card, she said yes, but then she said I could show her through the MDE that I had an AP with state issued photo id.
Don't get me started with AP/DVC discounts. The rule is you need the card and ID.. what happens is all over the place. Disneyland used to be the most laid back but are stupid strict now. How many cards do we need? An ID/Magicband should be enough.
