Good Morning Disneyittes, What is the difference between a cupcake and a muffin? Reason I ask concerns the Butterfinger one from Starring Rolls Cafe.Are they just the same article. A muffin over here is completely different from a cupcake.

Now after a bit a reseach on this matter many people state this theory,"If you throw a cupcake against the wall it will make the sound of "Poof". If you to the same with a muffin, it will make the sound "Thud".

I feel this is a theory you should test!

To get a little more technical:

Apparently, cupcakes are made with cake batter, and muffins are made with quickbread batter.
Cupcakes are lighter and airier (hence the pouf) and muffins are denser (hence the thud).
