where your parent's bad decisions don't give you a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach? Sorry, this is kind of long.
My parents have always been horrible with their money. After me, my sis, and a friend of the family lent them a few thousand dollars to get them out of the massive pit of debt they got themselves into, they still had to declare bankrupcy. Bad right? Well I have found out it can get worse.
Apparently, they couldn't even manage to make the bankrupcy payments for the whole 2 years it would have took for them to settle things. Now, their bankrupcy has failed. My dad's car, which he owes a crap-load of money on, is now up for grabs. He was told to come up with whatever the amount is he still owes on it, or they would repo it. I should add that mom's car got repoed last year.
Well, dad didn't come up with the money. So today, they fixed his little red wagon. Thru on-star they have shut the car down. He now can not drive it! So guess who is going to be stuck letting them use her car as the family car?
All of the above, and then some, is why I am still stuck at home when I should have been out on my own long ago. The and some is stuff like mom almost burning the house down, and dad not being able to hear the smoke detector going off.
My dream is to one day have a place of my own. But I don't see how it is ever going to be possible, as long as I have to keep watching out for my parents.
