I've never seen him there and since we have an AP that wouldn't be a bad idea. I really think you can only buy them in the parks though.

On the resorts site it has the list where to buy them and there is no mention of any place in downtown.

My family and I are going to WDW for the first time in Dec. for 8 days and just figured it was cheaper buying Pal Mickey, specially if we can use him on return visits(rent $8 a day x 8 days = around $64 and I've heard he is around $58 to keep). but we have a questions that maybe some of you can answer. I read that Mickey knows everywhere he has been, if you purchase him is there some kind of reset button for when you go to the park in the future to re-hear facts and other park info?

If you hold him with his nose facing the park entrance when you go in, he will "re-program" himself and be full of all kinds of information.

Yes, they do sell them at World Of Disney.

When we were there in Janurary, the cashier had one at the register and was trying to sell it to us.

I'm almost positive you can buy him at World of Disney. I'm pretty sure I saw them at WoD when we were there last month. I could be wrong, however, but I'm pretty sure about this one.

It's $60 to purchase Pal Mickey.

No need to worry about the math with Pal Mickey. The way it works is you pay the full price as a deposit $60 includes tax), then if you use him for only a day and return him you will be charged the one day rental and the remaining balance returned to you. If you decide you do want to keep him once his rental charges hit the deposit total thats it he is yours. No extra rental charges, never more than $60.

* Here is the problem once you have him you end up bonding with him and, if you are like me, you will feel guilty for even considering taking him back. That is why he is sitting here on my computer desk telling me jokes and making me want to go back!

Side Notes :The only difference, to my knowledge, between rental mickey and "purchase" mickey is the box he comes in. Also keep an eye on his first belt clip as they seem to be a little touchy, see if they will give you a spare, they are free. (Even with a rental)

No way to pull up his memory. You have a short period after he receives a signal/message to replay that one thing. It then is erased by the next signal he receives.
He does seem to have a memory of having been somewhere in the park and doesn't keep repeating the same thing. This seemed to even carry over between days with visits back to the same park.
