Do ResoDo Survey Postcards lead to future discounts?

I got my first Resort Survey postcard in the mail today. I was so excited.

I was just curious. I had heard people in the past mentioning special discount mailings they had gotten in the mail. Do these surveys sometimes lead to one being put on a special mailing list for discounts?

Although it certainly seems like a possiblility, I normally doesn't lead to anything other than a Thank You. I've been surveyed at least 10 times by Ft. Wilderness now, and haven't really gotten anything, but I'm happy to do it none the less.

Every year for the past 10 years we have been surveyed by someone, parks and resorts. Never have we recieved any special discounts. I have gotten emails to take more surveys.

Same here, Pop century keeps sending me postcards as well and it hasn't lead to anything else. I also fill out every email survey too in hopes of a discount, but nothing yet!

:wave: I was told by a Disney reservationist that they do random emails to people and mailings every year. even if you got one once, doesnt mean you will ever get one again. I just put my name on all the lists I can, etc. and register on the disney site. And then hope........

Actually, I think it's the opposite. Once they have you as a captive audience, they don't tend to send discounts. I used to get them all the time after I moved and ordered a new planning video at the new addy; then as soon as I went for the first time after that I never got one again (even though I get surveys and such almost every time).

Discounts like postcards and the like are aimed at making people who weren't thinking of going, or on the fence, into making a decision, not rewarding those they already know are probably coming.

(Yes, I realize the slight fallacy in their reasoning there, as I go several times a year and the more discounts the more trips I take, but people like us are a rare breed anywhere but on boards like this.)
