Hi Guys,
I am flying to WDW next March and can make my reservations for dining now.
We decided against DDP and decided to take cash because the money we'd spend is unjustifiable on DDP.
I know I can make reservations but is it necessary? Can I just turn up to a place and wait for a table?
We are going to Beaches and Cream the night we arrive from the UK but were just going to turn up seen as though we are staying at BC and same for ESPN the next day.

Course you can................................the question is - how long are you prepared to wait to be seated ?

The days of "just turning up" for a table and being seated with little or no wait are LONG gone. My suggestion is make some reservations now, if you decide to change them nearer the time you have the option to fall back on if you can't get a table elsewhere

Thank you for the advice, I am just such an unorganised spirit and like to ponder and float around my holiday without any major structure. Something that is impossible at WDW.
I suppose I will have to try and maybe write a bit of an itinerary so I dont have to sing for my supper every night

I don't foresee any problem with you walking up to B&C in March and getting a place to sit. This assumes we're talking about 4ish people and not a party of 8. Now, if you were talking about 'Ohana, BOG, or Rose & Crown, I'd say get an ADR.

Yeah its only for 2, last time we sat at the bar because their were no tables and it was still great in B&C. Is the Rose and crown really popular? Im from England so I was thinking about checking it out.

I read somewhere that they now only take ADR's if you want to eat inside Beaches and Cream. They don't do walk ups anymore except for ice cream at the take out window. I'd suggest getting an ADR.

Really? Oh dear I will make a reservation in that case then. Just incase this is true. No point in risking it. I want a Milkshake and a B&C burger after travelling 9 hours over the Atlantic!! I wouldnt be happy if this didnt happen.

Oh I don't blame you. Yes, I read it on another Disney related website. I thought I would point it out in case it is true. I would hate for you to arrive all the way from the UK and then not be able to get your meal you waited so long for! :)

This was not the case two weeks ago. We walked up without ADR and were seated .

It is. It's seating views may have a lot to do with it, though.

Rose & Crown is extremely popular, definitely get an ADR. I would get an ADR for any restaurants you want to try, especially since you are going in the spring, which tends to be busy at WDW.

It is true. You can't get any food items such as burgers or the fancy ice cream dishes at the take out.

Aww thank you very much, its just sometimes I really dislike being tied down to reservations. I love EPSN food, so I hope there arent any big games on on the 20th March '15 at lunch time. I need my fix of chicken wings before stepping on the cruise. I dont suppose i will know though because I'm not from the US. so probably better to make an ADR for that too.

Yes, especially if you're hoping to get a table which coincides with Illuminations (read 7:30 onwards). Check it out - its a fabulous place to eat, just a typical English country pub
