Do I have to register my Disney area hotel to get FastPass at 60 days?

I'm staying at a Disney Springs hotel that allows the 60 day window. How does WDW know so that I can schedule my Fast Pass at 60 days?

I know with Swan and Dolphin you have to put the reservation number into My Disney Experience. I'm guessing it is the same for the other 'good neighbor' hotels.

You can't always enter it immediately, it can sometimes take a day or two or so for the multiple computer systems to sync up.
