DME quick question

Say if your doing a two week trip but you start off out at Universal for 4 days and then transfer from Universal to a Disney hotel but, still wanted to take the advantage of using Disney Magical Express to return back...Can you do this on returning to MCO and mention it to a Disney Travel agent while booking or is it just roundtrip to utilize it?

Or would this be better the other way around (IE: going to Disney first with DME And then transfer to Universal via Mears)

We have done this many times, but now we do Uni first and then Disney so we can end our trip with Disney magic (I know it's corny, but we love it) and only took the express from the resort at the end of the trip. I will admit, though, the last two trips we called an Uber to come and get us so we could have a little more time on our last day since you have to be back at the resort like three or four hours before your flight (yes, after two weeks we still try to squeeze extra time in, I don't know if there is help for that.) My fam seems to like that better now since Uber shows up so fast and we spend less time in vehicle waiting. Might have something to do with the fact that we are on planes all day to get home, though.

I was thinking this myself doing Universal first with Sea World in the mix before I transfer to Disney...As there is a rumor going about Universal doing a Minion Van similar to the Minnie Van's that would take you from Universal for Disney...For free......https://orlandoinformer.com/blog/universal-researching-minion-vans/

Thank you, that is fabulous! We've gotten Uber from Uni, since we go to Costco on our way to Disney. I wonder how that would work with their transportation. I was just on the phone with Uni for an hour today fine tuning my plans, now I'm going to have to call back and question them about this. Not sure which resort your looking at, but the 3 that include express pass are nice since Escape From Gringott's, Forbidden Journey, and Hogwart's Express have had express access now since June, and it doesn't look like it was just a test. I asked today and they said as far as they know it's permanent - that will make a huge difference since those areas are always so crowded.

Although I'm in the really early planning stages as it was going to be a 2019 trip. I'm also trying to squeeze in a Disneyland trip next the following year as well..

I usually stayed at Cabana Bay due to it being a value. But, as The new Aventura is being built it looks like I might consider that one instead..

Personally. I think the DME on the way TO the airport is just cruel and unusual punishment so I would do it the other way ;)

OP, I've been waiting to see if the "Minion Van" or a similar service comes to fruition, too. Candidly, I think it's a brilliant idea: Universal's hotels seem to be so much more reasonably-priced than Disney's (considering "what you get"), offering free or inexpensive rides to Disney would boost its hotel business and encourage people to "bundle" Universal into their Orlando trip even if they weren't thinking of doing it before.

We're visiting Orlando in April/May 2018 and doing something similar. The current plan (assuming no Minion van service) is to hire a towncar from MCO to our Universal hotel (only costs about $5 more than Uber, and means someone will be waiting for us when we get to the airport), then after our Universal stay take an Uber to our Disney hotel, and then after our Disney leg, take DME back to the airport.

I had a thread somewhere on this board way back when we were first planning it out, asking people's opinion on which park to do first. There were advocates for both Disney first and Universal first, but the majority seemed to think that doing Universal after Disney might be a slight let-down, so in the end, we opted to do Universal first (which my kids have never done and are very excited about), followed by Disney (which they've done before but absolutely love).

What I also find nice is that Universal also has a Shuttle bus service that takes guests from City Walk or from the Deluxe hotels for a day to Sea World...I found this to be a big bonus since I had never gone and last year I took that advantage and I was very pleased about this. And I'm looking to add this to my trip as well...Some info about it is here...http://orlandoinformer.com/forum/to...iversals-hotels/?do=findComment&comment=15441
