DME question

So my husband and I are taking our niece to WDW in October. We got a sweet deal at AKL villas. I want to surprise my niece but am not sure how I am going to do it yet. Does anyone know if the DME bus that goes to AKL goes to any other resorts? And if so, which ones?

No
Although not guaranteed, AKL is the Resort closest to he airport. Being first stop isn’t impossible.

Yeah I may have to come up with a back up plan. I was thinking if the bus was shared, we'd pull up to AKL and I'd be like ok let's stay here.

When you tap your bands at the DME counter the cast member will announce your resort, so the jig will be up before you even board the bus. 😉
That's right. Hmmmmmm going to have to think of something. I never get to surprise her because I can't ever keep Disney stuff a secret. 😆

Hmmm. What if you don't mention or bring up where you are staying until that moment when the MBs get scanned at the airport kiosk? Or maybe perhaps mention you guys are staying offsite or somewhere she wouldn't be as excited about. And then when they scan the MB and say, "Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas!", she will be like, "Whaaaaa?" lol

Guess neither of those are very good ideas, but thought it might be worth a mention.

Easy peasy. Tell her you're going to a lunch / dinner reservation at Sanaa. No, you can't actually take DME to the site of a dining reservation but she doesn't need to know that.

We stay at AKL alot. I've been first stop, and all the way to 4th stop on DME. As PP's have said, unless your niece is fully tuned into something on her phone and oblivious to the CM doing checkin, and then the line you wait in, and the CM when you board the bus, it's kind of hard to keep your final destination secret.

Yeah I'm thinking maybe a Minnie Van would be the only way to totally surprise her. Although she is 13 so sometimes she is completely oblivious to what is going on around her. Lol

Or just let the surprise be in the airport at the DME counter.
Waiting for/on the DME buses can be a drag, so it might be nice to have something to be excited about.
