DME pre-trip service...meh...

Just got off the phone with DIsney trying to get our DME arrangements straightened out.

We were originally booked into Pop, but in late August we changed our resv. to CSR. At the time I changed resorts I requested they change our DME arrangements to reflect the new resort. Was told it was taken care of. In mid-September we received our DME package... for Pop. I called Disney and noticed them of the resort change and requested a new packet. Fast forward to today (1 week before our departure). I called Disney again trying to get the updated packet. Was told that this function is outsourced to a 3rd party and the agent wasn't sure if/when our packet would go out.

Really??? I was kind of surprised as this is not normally Disney's "way".

I know this is not a huge deal, as we'll show up at the DME desk with resv. in hand showing CSR and our Pop DME packet and they will accommodate us with no questions asked, but really. This doesn't require a degree in quantum physics to get right. Someone needs to get ahold of the "3rd party" and kick some *ss.

Well, DME *is* a 3rd party company (Mears).

Did you call Disney Reservations (407-W-DISNEY, etc) or the number listed in the DME booklet (866-599-0951)?

It's been my experience that Central Reservations often has difficulty in dealing with complex DME arrangements (people on different flights or different days, someone taking DME from the airport who isn't arriving on a flight, etc) or problems like yours, and that it's better to call the DME people directly at the 866 number above,

Did your reservation number change when you changed resorts? If not, you have no worries. As long as your flight info is in the DME computers properly (call DME to check), the barcode in the DME booklet and yellow luggage tags (and now, info in the Magic Bands) links everything together.
