DME or Agents transfer

We are off to the magic in a few weeks, we already have free transfers from MCO to POR but always waiting around for ages for all the passengers who are going to Disney property or parts of it, to get their bags and wonder around and eventualy get on the bus. Last year we were waiting over an hour, which is not great after a 10 hr flight!

Is this similar to DME? I did enquire about private transfers but hit a dead end and not knowing who to trust also. All ideas welcomed

I'm not sure what you mean by "free transfer" -- is this transportation by a non-Disney company? Or are you referring to Disney's free transportation service from MCO to its resorts (Magical Express)?

With Disney Magical Express, you head to the Magical Express counter at MCO, check in with them, and get on the next bus leaving for your resort -- typically the wait should be no more than 20 or 30 minutes, but it all depends on how busy it is when you get there. Your DME bus may stop at another resort or two on the way to yours, but the process is fairly seamless, the buses are comfortable, and they show you a nice welcome video along the way.

If you don't want to use Disney transportation in general, there are several rental car companies stationed at MCO. You can also call a taxi.

Hi, sorry for the confusion. I get a free transfer from a UK travel agent, its a non-Disney company (Virgin) but they do use Mears who are agents for DME. Sounds very similar, we always have the chance for car rental but its easier to collect from car care centre the next day after a long flight and a few drinks!

May look at private transfer, any good companies around rather than taxi's that have meters going faster than the new Dumbo ride!!

While Mears is the operator of the DME buses, the two services (Mears and DME) operate very differently.

With Mears, they try to fill a bus up as much as they can before departure. With DME there is more of a Guest convenience factor, so they try not to have people sitting on a bus waiting to depart for more than 15 minutes. (This doesn't always happen, but it's what they try for)

The DME buses also don't wait for specific people to arrive. They load the buses with the people they already have standing in the respective queues. They don't wait for passenger John Doe to get off his flight, grab lunch, shop in four stores and then find the DME counter.

Hi Rob, many thanks for that. I think that the company we travel from the UK charter the buses so its only UK passengers/guests who are on there. I'm just impatient wanting to get to the magic quickly!!
