DLR and Halloween

What kind of activities do they have for Halloween? I've almost got my wife and kids talked into going to DLR instead of WDW either this year or next, but they're bummed about missing MNSSHP. I believe they still have the HM layover, yes? Is there anything else that stands out for the Halloween season?

Holloween is a ticketed event out there now too (which es the old fan base off out there)

They have a special fireworks show (with zero flying...)
They have the trick or treat partying
They have the park all decorated
they have characters in special costumes
they have the space galaxy overlay on Space Mountain
they have the haunted mansion overlay

Note.. Holloween has become a VERY popular time for the parks due to the more recent additions.

Muchas gracias señor! I figured that you would be one of the ones responding, and it's much appreciated. This should apease the wife and youngin's!

Also, is the hard ticket event like the one at WDW, in that you can actually get in at 4pm instead of 7pm?

Flynnibus covered some great stuff. We also have pumpkin carving and Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. There's also this new exhibit they just got this year where Disney villains pop up and the kids play carnival games and participate in activities.

Jack and Sally also do meet and greets inside the park.

There's also a parade. Hope this helps with your decision.

Yup - note only some things are limited to the party (fireworks being the biggest) - and this is an evolving thing with ticketed events at DLR.. so things could change for 2013 yet.

But for DLR - it's actually a cheap way to get a day at the park (the ticketed events).

The Halloween party "parade" is more of a cavalcade - it pales in comparison to WDW's only up-to-snuff parade, which is Boo to You. Halloween Screams is essentially HalloWishes, but with Jack Skellington narrating instead of the Ghost Host.

If your family is into intense scares, Universal Studios Hollywood and Knott's Berry Farm offer world-famous Halloween events that are not for the faint of heart.

Sweet! I'm just psyched to be back at DL! I haven't been there since 1992, so a lot has changed. It will be weird not going back to a spread out resort, but I've been dying to go back to Cali and see all of the places from my youth, especially DL.
