DLR 2012 Grand Openings

There's a thread covering all the refurbishments and closures so here's is your one stop thread for everything that is opening or reopening(after a major refurbishment or change) in 2012 starting with the Jolly Holiday Bakery and Cafe.

Instead of just listing Cars Land and Buena Vista Street all the attractions, shops, dinning and entertainment are listed. Also a few very note worthy refurbishments from Main Street. Who wants to bet we'll also see a new Disney Gallery exhibit as well

No problem, I was going to put it in the DLR Refurbishment thread but I figured since that thread is mainly closures why not have one for openings. We could count DCA's 2001 opening with so many things at once but not bad for another round 11 years later.

Al Lutz has a blurb on Miceage today about Ghiradelli's grand opening being pushed back two days. No one at Disney or Ghiradelli or in the press has mentioned an exact date for this opening, but it is coming up and looks to be just a week away according to Mr. Lutz....

EDITOR’S NOTE 5/29: The grand opening of Ghirardelli has been pushed back from the 5th to the 7th, due to conflicts with getting all the right bigwigs in town from San Francisco and Europe for the ceremony and "ice cream social". It's a nicely themed soda fountain, but after turning some of the previous Mission Tortilla exhibit space into a kitchen, there's not a whole lot of space left. But the Ghiradelli shop should be a nice option in the park since Clarabelle's Ice Cream Parlor on Buena Vista Street will be busy this summer. -Al Lutz

A new musician will be part of the entertainment on Grizzly Trail, which runs alongside Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, seen here, and Grizzly River Run in Disney California Adventure. New entertainment begins next month.

And a rope drop

A new "rope-drop" ceremony will be held at the start of each day when Disney California Adventure opens. The new entrance kiosk, which opened last summer, is seen here. Disneyland long has held a "rope-drop" along Main Street, U.S.A.

This will surely be the "summer to remember"
