DLP Gets "Glow with the Show"

DLP has gotten "Glow with the Show" technology. First tried at Disneyland California, the tech links light up Mickey Ears with attractions and shows. Though there they call them "Disney Light'Ears"

Here's some video of the summer roll out show...

<withholds snarky comments about how us WDW fans are getting plastic bracelets...>

Great show though!

Sorry, I agree, Disneyland California is Disneyland, but...they also call Disneyland Paris Disneyland, and Disneyland Tokyo, and Disneyland Shanghai...list goes on.

There's a reason people call it DLC now.

But yes, I agree with your edit, and the glow with the show ears were awesome when I saw them. I regret not picking up a pair (on my list, but I had to leave early from that trip and missed out). <grin>

I'd love to see them at EPCOT!

I know the other "Disneylands" have their locations attached to them, but Disneyland is just Disneyland because it's the original. No need to attach its location at the end.:D BTW, you're the only person I've heard/seen say "Disneyland California."

I find it very strange these ears aren't available at WDW. I know TDO is apparently cheap and (apparently) doesn't like adding extra things for the parks, but the Glow ears don't seem very expensive at all. Is it really that hard to make these available in Florida? I don't understand.

Over the property the tech is expensive, but NOTHING like magicbands.

And, I've seen others refer to it as DLC as opposed to DL (hence why I started using it, as I used to call it DL as well, but I could be mistaken...)

To me, Disney is WDW, I know, not the original (flame away), but it's what I grew up with, so it's what I know. DL(C) is a foreign park to me, and even on my visit, while there was a lot I loved (a WHOLE lot)...it still didn't feel "right"...

I'm sure you'll feel the same going to WDW. It's a "home park" thing.

Exactly, the technology can't be as expensive as the bands, so money shouldn't be a problem. I think Orlando just doesn't want to offer them, simple as that. Sad, really.

Trust me, I understand. Just looking at pictures of the Florida parks, specifically Magic Kingdom, I get the feeling I will like it, but not as much as my love for Disneyland. Magic Kingdom is very spread out, with "missing" areas. I noticed in videos of MK, one thing will be there and then it will be bare, then something else will pop up. I find that very strange, since at Disneyland, there are no empty areas. Everywhere you look, there's something to look at. That will take some getting used to, but that won't be a problem, since I've been dying to visit WDW since forever.

Most people prefer their home parks. I've only seen a few people that "convert" their love for the other resort.

They look cool on video. But you wearing the hat doesn't really matter, you can't look at yourself lol. And if the others don't buy it.......I didn't see many used in Disneyland when I was there. Plus they are very expensive.

Yeah, $25 - $26 dollars, something like that as I recall from DLC.

Seems to me that what they should do is bundle it with a resort room package. Sneaking an extra $30 a head onto a multi-night room reservation wouldn't seem like that big a deal to me. Just make it part of the "Magic Your Way" package and call it an "extra value". <grin>

Then again, I suppose I shouldn't give Disney any ideas...

But, it would be cool if they were already provided (like Magicbands will be), because it would increase the participation rate. At WDW, that means a percentage of 20 - 30k people wearing them any given day!
