Thought I'd just pass on a few things I saw/heard in the parks yesterday!
-Snow White - I'm already starting to notice small changes in the show, unless I'm just going crazy. But I'm fairly sure the scene with Snow White and the Wicked Witch scene was shortened - I think the first time I saw it, it was dragged out cause I remember getting really annoyed by that, but I think they've really cut it down.
-Home on the Range Petting Zoo - There's now a big sign up by the old Big Thunder Ranch saying something along the lines of "Meet the Animals of Home on the Range, opening April 2." so the rumored petting zoo is indeed coming! It'll be great to see that area open again. I'm not sure if the April 2 is just referring to the movie's opening date, or if it's also the opening date for the petting zoo.
-The Hub - the construction walls are down, and the old trees are missing. I will say, however, that it does look very nice! I have a photo of it here: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kirstenwahlquist@sbcglobal.net/detail?.dir=/b13c&.dnm=d0cf.jpg
-FastPass machines - not really news, but more of an observation. Has anyone else found lately that they're very unreliable? More and more, I'm finding that many of the machines at each attraction will not read tickets or passes. It's rather annoying. Yesterday, at both Screamin' and Soarin', I had to go down the line of machines trying to get them to work, and the other guests were having trouble with them as well. Seems to me that they need to pay a little more attention to keeping them in working order.
And not so much an update here, but something that happened yesterday that bothered me. I bought a margarita at Pacific Wharf, and wandered with it back to Sunshine Plaza. As I was sitting in the plaza drinking it, I was approached by an un-costumed older Cast Member and asked to show ID that I was over 21. Now, I completely understand why he did that, and that doesn't bother me at all. However, it was the manner he did it in that bothered me. He was incredibly rude and pushy about it, treating me like a criminal. He appeared to me to be in management. I just thought that the very least he could have done was to be pleasant about it, but no. (sigh)
That was balanced out, though, by a WONDERFUL CM, Olga, who was helping out over at the Aladdin cart. I stopped to get the souvenir program, and while I was buying it, I asked if there was any way to get a current cast list. She said she didn't have one, but went out of her way to go try and get one from Entertainment. In the end, she wasn't able to get a copy for me, but just the fact that she went the extra mile to help out was great!!
