Well everyone, NemoRocks78 is honored to bring to you his trip report from his fabulous trip to Disneyland! Enjoy! :D

Sunday, March 21st
We woke at 6:45 am, as our flight left at 9 from Palm Beach International Airport. We got to the airport at around 7:45, checked in, and then caught some breakfast in the terminal at a cafe. Soon enough it was time to board and we then took off to Atlanta. We then arrived in Atlanta and had a 45 minute layover, so we decided to catch some lunch at Sbarro's. After lunch we went back to the gate where we had some time to spare, so I went and bought myself a magazine. It was then time to board and we took off once again to Orange County, CA. They showed 'Cheaper by the Dozen' on board, and even though I hate that movie, I still watched it as we had a long flight ahead of us. After the movie ended I took out my laptop and popped in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, which I only watched about 45 minutes of, and then switched to The Nightmare Before Christmas. After NBC ended I just listened to some music. Finally we arrived at John Wayne Airport at 2:30, actually 15 minutes early. We picked up our luggage and got a taxi. The taxi driver was a very friendly man, he told us some info on ToT and more. He even said he was at Disneyland on opening day! We then arrived at our hotel, the Radisson Hotel, checked in, and then walked down the street where we grabbed a light dinner at a Subway. After that it was off to DCA! We walked down Katella and entered across the street from the Convention Center at the Timon parking lot. We hopped on a tram and went to the main gates. After that we went to the ticket booths where we waited in line to recieve (what we thought was going to be) 3-Day Park Hoppers, but they turned out to be 5-Day Park Hoppers. Apparently there was a promotion, 5 days for the price of 3. That was fine with me! We then walked through the gates of DCA and went straight to Soarin', which racked up an hour wait. Said no and headed to the Hollywood Pictures Backlot for Muppet*Vision 3D, as it was going to be closed for the entire time of our stay except for that day. After MV3D we got in line for the 6:15 Aladdin show. Spectacular show, now one of my favorite shows in a Disney park along with being in my top ten favorite attractions! After Aladdin we headed to Paradise Pier where our first attraction was the Golden Zephyr, which we waited for 5 minutes. Next was Orange Stinger. At the ticket booths, they said OS was closed, but no refurbishment lists reported that. Waited 10 minutes for that one, and then made our way to Mullholland Madness, which had a 35 minute wait. We decided to skip it and then walked down to California Screamin', which had a 35 minute wait also, but we didn't want to miss the parade so we also said no to it. We then found a spot for the parade across the street from Golden Dreams. Finally, the parade made way down to where we were. Good parade, brings back memories of MSEP. After the parade ended, everyone was tired, so we skipped Fantasmic! and went back to the hotel to rest for the next day.

Monday, March 22nd
Woke up at 7am, got ready, and then headed out. Went to IHOP for breakfast (which actually was horrible). Today we decided on Disneyland. We were inside the park about 30 minutes after opening and our first stop was Tomorrowland. First ride of the day was Star Tours with a 10 minute wait. Next up was Honey, I Shrunk The Audience, no wait at all as we got there when doors were about to open. After HISTA we went to Innoventions, which is always fun. They had a Mission: SPACE exhibit there, too. I tried logging on to these boards from there, but it would only let me access the main page (actually, before I left the computer station, I went to SaveDisney.com and left it up on the screen :D ). After Innoventions we went to Autopia, which we waited for 30 minutes. We got to get our driver's licenses, and my little brother, sister, and I all won those free cars. After getting our cars we went to the Matterhorn, which we waited for about less than 40 minutes. Next up was lunch at the Village Haus. After lunch we went to Pinocchio's Daring Journey with a 10 minute wait, then it was to Mr. Toad's Wild Ride with a wait of 25 minutes. After Toad we decided on Storybook Land Canal Boats, which we waited about 20-25 minutes to get on. Next was it's a small world, which contained a 20 minute wait. After IASW we grabbed some Mickey ice cream bars and sat outside Fantasyland Theater, where many had lined up for the 2:45 Snow White: An Enchanting New Musical show. The line was so big that we decided on waiting for another show, but after everyone had been let in, we chose to go ahead in as well. We sat all the way to the right of the stage in one of those little boxes all the way above the normal seating. Not too bad of a view. I didn't enjoy the show that much though. After the show we went to Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin where we were greeted with a 50 minute wait time on the sign. "Oh well", we said, and got in line. We actually waited only 20 minutes. After the ride we went to the Toontown railroad station and got on the train to New Orleans Square. Once there, we picked up FastPasses for The Haunted Mansion, which the return time was in an hour or more at 6:55. We then decided to head on down to Pirates of the Caribbean which advertised a 45 minute wait, but it was only about 20 minutes. After PotC we stopped at the Le Bat en Rouge shop for some NBC merchandise, and then went to Critter Country where Splash Mountain awaited us with a nice 70 minute wait. We actually only wait 60 minutes. After the ride we bought the photo and then went to Haunted Mansion with our FPs. After HM we got back on the railroad to go to Main Street and leave the park. By the way, while passing by Frontierland, they announced on the train that the Frontierland Petting Zoo and Barbeque was opening in June. The tagline was "you feed them, then you eat them." We then got off at Main Street USA and left the park and then went for a fast dinner at McDonalds. It was then back to the hotel room for the night.

Tuesday, March 23rd
We awoke at 7am once again and got ready. It was then to McDonalds for breakfast, and after that, DCA. We arrived at DCA 10 minutes after the official park opening time and went straight to Soarin' Over California with a 15 minute wait. Always love that ride, can't wait any more for it to get to Epcot. After Soarin' we donned our rain ponchos and went on Grizzly River Run with a 5 minute wait. After one ride my brother and sister went on again themselves. We then walked to Golden Dreams and waited about 7 minutes to get into the next show. After the show we went to Paradise Pier and picked up some FPs for Mullholland Madness. I then, myself, went on Maliboomer while my little brother and sister went on Orange Stinger. I waited about 5 minutes in the Singles line while the normal line was at 20. After a good ride we went to Pizza Oom Mow Mow for lunch. After lunch I went back to Maliboomer and waited no time. Our FPs for Mullholland Madness were then good so we went on that, and once that was over I went back to Maliboomer once again. We then went to the Sun Wheel and waited about 20 minutes. Next was to be California Screamin', but when we got there, it was closed because of operational difficulties, so we walked to A Bug's Land and saw It's Tough To Be A Bug!, and then headed back to Paradise Pier where California Screamin' was working once again, so we waited for 40 minutes and rode. We then stopped at Greetings from California to pick up a few things, and then decided to leave DCA and go over to DL. We walked into Adventureland and waited 15 minutes for The Enchanted Tiki Room. After that we waited 10 minutes for the Jungle Cruise, and then sadly walked past the closed Indiana Jones Adventure  . We then walked to Tomorrowland for another spin on the Autopia which we waited for 20 minutes. After Autopia, we got on the monorail to Downtown Disney. ESPN Zone had a 45 minute wait, and the Rainforest Cafe had a 75 minute wait, so we decided to forget both of them and got back on the monorail to Tomorrowland. After arriving in Tomorrowland, we came to find Autopia with a small wait so we once again went back to it (it is my sister's favorite ride of them all so we had to do it for the third time) and only waited 10 minutes. After the Autopia we left Disneyland and walked across the street to Tony Roma's for dinner. It was then back to the hotel for the night.

Wednesday, March 24th
We awoke at 8am today, got ready, and took a hotel shuttle to Knott's Berry Farm at 9:30 am. We first stopped at the Ghost Town Bakery in the Ghost Town land in the park for breakfast. Our first ride of the day was Ghostrider, which we waited for 20 minutes. It's an amazing woodie which is one of my favorite woodies, second to Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. We then walked to Bigfoot Rapids, only to find it wasn't open, so we walked to the Boardwalk land and hit the Wheeler Dealer Bumper Cars, which we didn't wait for. Next was Kingdom of the Dinosaurs, which is an ok dark ride. We then went to Boomerang, an awesome boomerang coaster. After Boomerang I, myself, went on Xcelerator. That 80-mph launch is crazy! I love that coaster, it's now one of my favorites. We then went to the Supreme Scream, where I, by myself, rode. Pretty fun, I liked Maliboomer more though. We then went and had lunch, me and my brother ate at Fiesta Dogs, my sister, mom, and dad ate at Cantina. After lunch we went on Jaguar, an okay kiddie coaster. After we got off my mom and dad left me and my little sister and brother alone as they went to the 2:00 Mystery Lodge show. We were going to meet them at 3:00 for the Wild West Stunt Show. Me and my sister then went on Montezooma's Revenge, a cool coaster. We all then went on the Timber Mountain Log Ride. Can you say rip-off of Splash Mountain? I think so, but still fun. We then went on the boring Calico Mine Ride before it was time to head to the Wagon Camp, the name of the theater which housed the Wild West Stunt Show. The show is pretty hilarious. We then went back to Bigfoot Rapids, which was opened, and rode. After riding we decided to leave the park, as the shuttle would be coming back to pick us up in an hour at 5 pm. We walked down to the California Marketplace, which has a variety of shops. After checking out a few we went to get some ice cream. Finally the hotel shuttle arrived and we asked the driver to drop us off at Disneyland. We got off and walked into DCA first, just for a ride on Soarin'. We waited about 45 minutes, advertised time was 60. After Soarin' we left DCA and went into Disneyland. Our first stop was at the Emporium, and that was for about an hour as we bought a lot of stuff. Then I walked over to the 20th Century Music Store and bought the DL Official Album. We then went into Tomorrowland, and at the time it was 8pm. We first stopped at the Pin Trading Store next to where Buzz Lightyear is going to be and I bought some pins. We then went to the Autopia for the 4th time and waited 30 minutes to ride. Then it was a walk into Fantasyland and a 10 minute wait for Alice in Wonderland, which has to be my favorite dark ride of them all. Okay now--we got off, 25 minutes until park closing. What to do? Well, we could go back on Matterhorn. No, it's not that great. Splash? I'm not waiting 70 minutes again. Well, there's only one mountain left--Big Thunder Mountain! Got on with a 15 minute wait. I was the only one in my family to ride, as everyone else was too 'scared' to ride. I got train 6, first car, row 2. Scary feeling I had right there when I was assigned that row! But the ride went smooth. After getting off BTMRR the park was closing in 5 minutes. We walked to Main Street USA, and I took some photos of the hub and castle, as the walls were down and the Partners statue was in clear view. We then said our goodbyes and left the park. It was then back to the hotel where we all fell right asleep after a very long day.

Thursday, March 25th
We woke up at 8 again, got ready, packed up the luggage, and then left the hotel room. Across the street at the Coast Hotel was a restaurant called the "Coffee Shop", so we decided to try it for breakfast. They had some really good food there. After breakfast we went back to the hotel, got our luggage, and had a taxi come and get us. We then too the taxi back to John Wayne Airport, where we were for 2 hours. Had lunch at McDonalds there. Our plane left at 2pm, and it went to Dallas. I didn't do much on the plane except listen to music and read some magazines. We got into Dallas-Ft. Worth at 7:25, as our plane was late. Well, guess what? Our plane to West Palm left at 7:30! The plane we took was a small CRJ-700 commuter plane, so we had to get out on the runway, walk up stairs to the terminal, and run to the gate. While we were running, they even announced a final boarding call for our flight! Thankfully we got there just in time. On the plane I watched School of Rock and part of Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl during the flight. We arrived at PBIA at 11:15pm, and didn't get home until 12-something.

The trip in all was very fun. It was cold in Cali though, that was strange, but the weather was nice and I like it like that. One thing's for sure though: I don't want to eat in McDonald's for another year. I'll get pictures up in a few minutes.

Can't wait for my next trip over there! :D

Woo! :D Sounds like you had fun! And thanks for the info on the BTM Ranch petting zoo - I saw the sign on the gate, but I hadn't heard an opening date or anything. :) Guess that's what happens when I never ride the railroad! ;)

I agreee with you about Snow White - cute show, but some definite plot issues. I love the sets, though.

Boy Xcellerator is an awesome ride is it not. Yes the timber log ride is a horrible wanna be SP MTN. But my uncle said that during Halloween, everything is dark, and they have live peoformers jump out and scare you. Did you ever worry about that jet stream of water on the timber flume. That was funny.
But it sounds like you had a grrreat time as Tigger would say.

Timber Mountain Log Ride opened 20 years before Splash Mountain, so how can it be a rip-off? You may have just called Splash Mountain a rip-off without realizing it.

Thanks for the link, Merlin!

I am pretty sure I remember reading an interview with some Imagineers who said they were always a little envious of Timber Mountain and that they wished Disney had come up with that idea first. One thing's for certain, Timber Mt is definitely NOT a rip of Splash Mountain. If anything, it's the opposite. Timber Mountain is a classic!

Well if you rode and didn't know that. You would think Timber MTN, is a rip off.

Perhaps so, but now that you know Timber Mountain was the original (by 20 years!), does that mean you now think SPLASH MOUNTAIN is the "rip off"? It seems to me that you can't have it both ways. If you find the two attractions so alike as to warrant referring to Timber Mt as a "rip off" because you thought it opened AFTER Splash, then doesn't my observation make sense that you and Nemorocks have, in essence, called Splash the rip off?

Personally I have never considered the two attractions all that similar. In fact, I grew up in Southern California and used to ride Timber Mountain a lot as a kid. I was in my 20's when Splash Mountain opened and even though I was already a huge Disney fan, I remember wondering how Splash was going to outdo Timber Mountain. After riding Splash for the first time, I no longer had my doubts. I still love to ride Timber Mt, but Splash definitely blows it away.

Hey now, hold on here guys. I didn't mean to stir up trouble like this at all. I've been on it a few times, and must say it's my second-favorite log flume ride, behind Splash Mountain. I think it's a fun ride. I actually should have never used the term "rip-off", because, as Merlin said, it opened 20 years before Splash. I never knew that. I shouldn't have said it was a "rip-off" before knowing that it opened before Splash Mountain. So, that's my fault right there. Sorry about that! :)

Hey NEMOROCKS!

Thanks for the update!

I had a BLAST on my trip to DisneyLand this summer!

Did you get to see Fantasmic or Believe while you were there???

I LOVED the differences in Fantasmic at DL!

:sohappy:

Believe wasn't playing (re-starts April 2nd, though I don't know why it can't be like Wishes and play every day!). Sunday was the only day Fantasmic! was playing, and we were going to catch the 10 pm show, after we had seen the 8:45 Electrical Parade at DCA. Unfortunately, everyone (but me!  ) was cold (it was pretty chilly out there) and tired, so we opted to go to back to the hotel instead. We've seen Fantasmic! at DL before, so it isn't a big loss. :D

No apology necessary. You didn't stir up trouble. I was just pointing out that just because the two attractions are similar doesn't mean one ripped off the other. But if one of them did, then I'm afraid Splash would be the guilty party here.

On a separate note, I LOVE the fact that you left SaveDisney.com up on the screen! What a great idea that I never would have thought of. I'm going to start doing that now.

I tried that a month or two back, I set all of them on savedisney.com, however as I looked back at the ones I did, they had gone back to Google. Unfortunately, they're on a timer that automatically resets to the homepage after just a few minutes of being idle. :(

Hmmm.... There must be some way to override that timer. Now I'm on a mission. In any event, even if it's just for a few minutes maybe it will make a difference.

Hey, I'm sorry if I caused any problems here. I didn't know Sp Mtn was 20 years late.
