DL or WDW for Family Reunion in late 2012, WWYD?

I'm baack!

Our last trip to WDW was in 2007 and took a break from the Disney parks to start a family (now have a daughter 3, and son 4 1/2 months) and make a major move from the Pacific North West to Hawaii so we've been pretty busy!

We took a quick trip to DL for my first time visit for the drive down to Long Beach to barge our car in late '08 (my hubby and I were sick as dogs) and I'm trying remember having lots of fun but it never compared to our memories of WDW.

We're now trying to plan a family reunion to a mainland state since it's like pulling teeth to get his Dad's side of the family to visit us here.. strange huh and I can't seem to get anyone excited about WDW instead of meeting up in CA.

I think we all know of the benefits of going to WDW over DL (can stay longer vs shorter for the same price) but...

Does anyone how much (if any) of the Fantasyland construction will be done in late 2012? I'm kind of stuck in-between the consideration that the DL remodel will be done by '12 but WDW won't be. Half the family wants to go to CA and the other half doesn't seem to care but of course, being as how our family which will be put out the most financially, I want to make the best decision. With Fantasyland being my favorite part of WDW and it being a great place for the little ones, the construction is my major stumbling block in making this decision.

(Anyone who can point me to which forum has the info on the Fantasyland remodel, I'd greatly appreciate it!)--> never mind, found it.

What would you do?

I'll come visit you in Hawaii!! :)

I wish we had relatives to visit in Hawaii better yet I wish I lived there!

I would do WDW, its a place to spend a week! I was to DL when I was about 10 or so that was awhile ago and I loved it but it did not compare to WDW.

But the fact that you would have one heck of trip, I don't know? Where are the rest of your family located?
