Is Dixie Landings a WDW resort? I ask this because i was just know looking at a list of all the resorts at WDW and it didn't show up. Many people on this forum seem to have stayed there.

We stayed in 1999, and like so many others we absolutely loved it. So much so we're staying there again in July. In speaking with the reservation CM, I was assured the only change was to the name, and that has been verified by many on this board. Stay there, you'll love it too. Too bad about the name change though. PC gone horribly wrong.

yes, it is a WDW resort. Its a very nice one, too. I recommend this resort. but, I still wanna call it the Dixie Landings!!!

It is too bad, recent posts on another thread lead me to belive that it isn't as nice as PO RS as it was as DL. IMO we should call it PC RS.

DL really was my fav resort and I stayed there 3 times in the past. I am glad we are now DVC members and won't be staying at DL anymore because we will be at DVC resorts. I perfer to remember it the way it was my very first trip to WDW with my husband!

We (mom, dad, brother) are DVC members too. We mostly stay at the Boardwalk, but when we run out of points, we go to the Dixie Landings  We always seem to run out of points!

I stayed at Dixie landings too in 97. It was a nice resort but a bit bland compared to Port Orleans or any of the upscale resorts on property, especially since I'm from the South anyway. What I did like were the huge manicured lawns in front of the mansions and the great fried chicken at the food-courtish thing. It wasn't a bad resort, but I wouldn't stay there again, simply because they'res more exciting and interesting things on property (and off) for the money.

Heading for the great escape.
I last stayed there 12 months ago and ill be staying there next year.
Alligator Bayou is very nice I preferred it to the mansions. Shortly before we arrived we were informed of the name change. As far as I could see there was no major difference. We love it the wildlife, the gardens and the small pools between block complexes help to make it a really relaxing place. And as for the river boat to downtown thats a little gem. Only complaint there was no "Riverside" merchandise it was all Port Orleans. Roll on summer 2003
