Disney has announced to press holders today a brand new fifth theme park loosely themed to music genres: Disney's World of Music! The goal of the new park is to bring all of the classic musically themed Disney movies to life alongside some new groundbreaking ideas sure to please all ages. Here's a rough map we created using the info given at this press release

For simplicity sake we will go in an down to up motion on this map to cover the upcoming park in it's fullest!

The first land guests enter is New Orleans Square. Despite the shared name, New Orleans Square shares little similarities to the Disneyland original including it's flagship ride and even theming. According to officials who were at the event, the new land will have stunning night lighting to emulate New Orleans as well as multiple dining opportunities and shops based on food and culture from the area. The land will be a little more elegant than the one featured at Disneyland due to this as well as the larger scope in size. Disney reportedly chose this to be the starting land as jazz has ties to all kinds of modern music people often take for granted, a land like this as headliner will surely help the genre spread to younger visitors. It was once reported Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom would be replaced by a ride based off of Princess and the Frog, however plans have shifted as the basic elements of the new version of the ride will now be placed here as the flagship e-ticket of this new land, leaving Splash as it's old theme for now. However rumors are swirling in the air that Splash will soon be replaced by a new western themed attraction so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Right above that is Symphony Street: a land filled with giant replicas of instruments and music notes. This land fills the Fantasyland role of the new park and is meant to represent classical music, as like with jazz, classical music fills the backbone of all modern music, so it's no surprise this land is right above the jazz based New Orleans Square area. The land's rides will mostly be based on old-school Disney classics, with reports flying in that the land's e-ticket will be a high-tech dark ride based on the best moments from the two Fantasia movies using a mix of real props and the screen based technology seen in Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. I've also heard reports of a smaller ride based on one of Disney's classic shorts filling the space, with the short Flowers and Trees being thrown about the most out of the names being reported around. Whatever short is picked though, keep expectations low as it's being said that this is a D ticket tier attraction around the same vein as Silly Symphony Swings or Dumbo the Flying Elephant. There's also been some other smaller attractions thrown about such as a replica of the titular clock store from the short The Clock Store as well as an interesting restaurant that doubles as a concert hall but not as many information has surfaced about these smaller attractions as of yet. Though the most interesting report of all is a certain purple and yellow dragon might move space here, so keep your eyes peeled for an announcement about this stunning move.

Out of all the new lands announced perhaps the most intriguing is Villain's Lair, a land many fans have been waiting for ages to see. The land is meant to represent the rock genre, which makes sense as rock used to have a stigma of being tied with evil and many rock bands often took this to stride and used evil imagery to promote their bands. The land's flagship is the castle seen in The Black Cauldron, a surprise to many since the movie is notorious for being a failure. Reports are coming in that the castle will have an updated version of the much loved Sleeping Beauty Mystery Tour that used to be hosted at Tokyo Disneyland, featuring new updated villains while keeping the classic ending of defeating the Horned King. In fact, guests should expect this land to be filled with all sorts of thrilling e-tickets, such as the much waited for Volcano Mountain attraction that has been rumored for Adventureland for years, an interactive show taking place at the underworld shown in Hercules, some sort of interactive zone based on the Elephant Graveyard from The Lion King, two dark rides: one based on the headless horseman and one based on the Nightmare Before Christmas, and a sinister dining area taking place in the Evil Queen's Castle from Snow White. This is any villain's lovers dream and the most highly anticipated of all the lands, however that doesn't mean you shouldn't be as excited for the other upcoming attractions in this new park!

For example, the new Science City area seems absolutely fascinating. Many wonder why this land is being made since there's already the pre-existing Tomorrowland and Epcot areas that are already future themed, however on a closer look this new land is more than just that. At first many thought this land was based on electronic dance music, however on a closer look and confirmation from insiders this land seems more inspired by rap and hip hop music with a sleek semi-modern sorta psychedelic city look similar to the one seen in some of Kanye West's early music videos. According to insiders the reason hip hop was chosen as the science themed land was it's importance in modern culture as well as it being more modern in general as a music form while still being classic enough for known staying power compared to something like dance music. However that doesn't mean a mini-land based on the dance music genre isn't out of the question as there's already some insider reports saying if the park does well enough, Disney might make a mini land adjacent to Science City based on the genre. Due to the more psychedelic theming the rides inside will be more like those found in Fantasyland with a strange psychedilic and sci-fi flair, expect little to no IP integration to this new land as it will fulfill the purpose that many past future themed lands failed at. In fact, rumors are already swirling about that the land might contain a few throwback rides such as a "slimy" and colorful Alien Encounter (with a crazy colored alien that looks like something you might find deep in the sea), an updated Captain Eo featuring a rap star and randomized shows, and even a spiritual successor of Horizons that takes visitors to an alternate psychedelic futuristic world instead of the future of mankind, but these attractions haven't been confirmed just yet.

With pop being one of the largest genres, it's no surprise there will be a land based off of it in this new music themed park and it's even less surprising the land is themed to candy considering the connection between the two has always been constantly made. Candy Island takes the old cancelled Rock Candy Mountain project and expands it to a full fledged land, complete with said mountain being the centerpiece for a ride themed to Sugar Rush from Wreck it Ralph. Rumors have it riders will be equipped with "laser canons" to fend off from Cybugs that have merged with the local candy landscape. There will also be a baking tour sponsored by Garadelli and an area that is designated to be easily transformed for Christmas to become Santa's bakery. This land will be smaller scale and meant for younger visitors who really love sweets, but still worth a visit for a nice breather in between lands (especially if you just visited the previously mentioned Villains Lair or rumored Alien Encounter revival).

Some fans might be really excited for the Land of the Dead themed area while others might be disappointed that the upcoming land for Latin music is based off of an IP rather than something original. Whatever boat you float on, you'd be glad to hear many reports are already flying in that this new land will be the most high tech of them all as the land will be entirely enclosed giving it the eternal night-time that the movie's location has. The flagship e-ticket will also be a very high tech boat tour of the locations seen in the movie, giving more reason to love this land. There's also reports of a flying simulator attraction where guests ride the back of Pepita above various of the movie's locations. While another smaller scale land, this one is one that is sure to please many people.

Folk Faire may seem like a surprising land to some, however Folk music is a surprisingly large genre that is still ongoing with modern music, you may have heard a folk song or two and never have even realized it! Therefore the inclusion makes perfect sense, plus it's renissance faire theme is just perfectly Disney. There's reports of a theater show based on the much-loved Hunchback of Notre Dame that cuts out the gargoyle characters as well as an interactive show similar to Jedi Training Academy where guest "train" to become a knight for the queen. There are two very interesting rides here: the first being Dragon's Flight, an indoor rollercoaster planned for Animal Kingdom at one point, however unlike the Animal Kingdom original, this one will take place in a castle setting with a brief section going outside of the castle. The other being a high tech Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, complete with Hell and the return of the dueling tracks. However there's some insider reports it won't be all flat like the original and there will be some projection effects here and there, but nothing that will bother anyone who's hardcore into the old beloved attraction. There's also plans for at least one ride based on a princess movie with most reports going towards Sleeping Beauty, which will be interesting to see with all the new high tech animatronics Disney has.

While this land may seem like another Frontierland, so far this park has proven to not just be expansions of per-existing lands as all of the new lands have been featuring many new ideas and identities which includes this land. Hoedown Farms is more themed to the farming aspect of the west rather than the cowboys and horses that the traditional Frontierlands have had, with reports even saying that the petting zoo that Disneyland once had might return in this spot! There will also be an interactive hoedown area where guests can learn many western dancing techniques or just dance however they desire! Interestingly, a dark ride attraction based on the failed Home on the Range film has been reported, which is less surprising giving how out of comfort zone this entire park has been turning out to be so far, but still interesting to note. Though the new Home on the Range ride will be more focused on the villain's crazy music number rather than the rest of the film. Expect a mini "fair" land with a few carnival rides, some reportedly being moved in from Dinoland U.S.A., but with a more vintage and cozy flair one wouldn't see in a modern fair that you can normally drive up to. There's also reports that the place will also be decorated for Halloween as sort of a western version of Halloweentown from the Disney Channel movies, making some wonder if a reboot or sequel of those beloved movies is in the works.

The final land is Chillout Island, a land that is meant to represent Reggae and other Caribbean influenced genres. This island themed land will have a boat ride themed to Moana and a show starring Lilo and Stitch as they try to capture some loose aliens all around
Hawaii. There will also be a few live shows with Reggae music and dancers as well as some smaller scale attractions such as a boat tour around the island and a smaller interactive island filled with mazes and interactive elements that will activate with the touch of a Magic Band. This land is pretty much a nice smaller scale land for chilling out and relaxing after a long day and may even include the flagship hotel because of that!

So far this new theme park seems very promising, keep your eyes out for more reports on what attractions will be hosted here and we will give as much updates as we can on this groundbreaking project! See you next time!
