Disney's Magical Express service to be discontinued next year
The free airport transfer service will be discontinued for 2022.

Something that makes no sense...
(Unless they are replacing it with some kinda of new "Paid" on demand service.. like Uber)
I mean, really, this makes ZERO sense for a few reasons.. Not the least of which is Disney wanted to keep people on the property, not encourage them to rent car's.

I wouldn't consider the new rail service to be a Magical Express alternative. It would be more economical and take less time to just take a cab service.

Well this is definitely a blow. I really enjoyed the Magical Express experience and not having to deal with my luggage. That first tap of the magic band really felt like the official start to the Disney experience. Now, not only do I have to visit the luggage carousel (which it currently is now), but also deal with another leg before the experience truly begins.
Since I've never had to use other transportation before, what are the general costs of other forms of transfers, such as ride share or coach?

Sucks because now I have to deal with the rental car company (not a big deal) car seat will be. Another thing to tote thru the airport or rent from them.

We need time for things to happen.
This kinda sux, we didn't use the ME but I know a lot of folks here loved it. As long as they still offer Airline check in\ baggage check at the resorts, I won't be too disappointed.

I have the same question. I've never visited WDW without DME, and honestly have a hard time imagining it without it. An Uber ride sounds costly, but cheaper than renting a car (who wants to do that?) and paying parking fees.
Way to make it more challenging for your guests, Disney.

Bad decision. For those with young kids it is always a hassle to use private transportation or a rental car. Magical Express made it so easy.

Well, this sucks. The Magical Express was one of the best things about staying in-park. And what the hell is Disney going to do with those busses?

This is really going to effect people traveling with kids. I really hope whatever this train is still provides service to and from the airport (included in resort fees), luggage delivery etc. The thought of renting a car or scheduling an Uber with the appropriate car seats sounds like such a headache.

Just going to get ahead of the "Brightline will replace this" replies:
The Brightline trains won't run nearly often enough to be a viable replacement. And even if they did, what is a family of 5 staying at the Polynesian supposed to do when they get to Disney Springs with 8 pieces of luggage and 2 strollers? Take a resort bus?
