Disney's Magical Express Late Night Arrival Q?

Hello. My wife and I will be arriving at MCO in June at 11:28pm. We've used ME before, but never this late at night. I already figured out that I should pick up our bags myself and have the bus take them with us so we do not have to worry about the bags being delivered in the middle of the night. However, I still have two questions:

1) Is there a limit on how many bags/pounds of bags you can bring on the ME bus?

2) How often do the ME busses run at that time of night? Should we expect a long wait?

TIA!

I would assume the bus would take whatever you're allowed on the plane.

Wait times late at night I don't know.

There is no limit to how many bags you can bring on the ME bus. The buses have a storage area underneath, so you can bring even your big bags with you on the bus.
You wont have to wait long for your bus. Disney is very good with transport, no matter what time. I've arrived at MCO well after 12 and I remember waiting around 10-15 minutes in the bus before leaving. But no problems at all late night.

Just for a heads up, though -- if you don't want to wait for your luggage, they will NOT deliver it at 2 am if you inform them at check-in at the resort. Let them know you took DME and the luggage should be arriving late. Ask them to hold it, and they will redeliver them to your room in the morning. THey will leave a blinking light on your phone with a message asking you to call them as soon as you wake up and they will redeliver the bags to your room.

My suggestion is pick up your luggage at the baggage check and take them with you to the bus. Arriving late at night, I didn't want to wait for the rest of my luggage. I took them with me and did not have to wait for the luggage delivery the next morning and slept late.

I will arrive in the early evening and am wondering if it is possible to go to baggage claim ourselves and take the luggage with us right away? Normally they pick it up and take it to the hotel with another bus? (this is what I heard)
I would much rather take the bags with me right away, instead of waiting for them to arrive at the hotel. Is there a choice?

Yes it is. However, since you are flying in from the NL, not sure if your first touch down point in the US will be Orlando. The reason I mention this is because whatever your first point of touch down in the US is, you will have to claim your bags and go through US customs and then check those bags with the connecting flight. If it is a direct flight to Orlando from the NL, you will still have to claim your bags and go through US customs. You would then have the option to send the bags with dme, but at this point you could just take them with you on the bus, it is not a problem.

Since you are flying in, you are limited by the airline's policy which is generally 2 checked bags per person and weight restriction is usually 50 pounds per bag. DME doesn't limit you, but the airlines do. This doesn't include carry on's.
