Disney's Lands of Imagination dedication:

"Proudly presented by the Walt Disney Company, we welcome you to Disney's Lands of Imagination.

In this lovingly stitched tapestry of stories and worlds, we sincerely hope that you find unrivalled adventure, moments of calm reflection, feel the longing of romance, and an appreciation for that which makes all the wonderful experiences in this world possible.
May you always remember one thing - everything that ever was and ever will be, came from the wonders of Imagination."

Disney's Lands of Imagination is essentially a love letter to story-telling, with 8 Lands each telling their own tales of courage, adventure, happiness and more. Today, we'll be looking at the entry land in to the park:

Please accept my apologies for the very basic art style of the park map - graphic design is most certainly not my passion or forté 😆!

Avenue du Triomphe
Before getting to the entrance of the park, you are greeted with the 'mascot' (for branding purposes) of the park - the Sun. Portrayed as a female figure, a fountain (alongside park dedication above on a plaque) greets guests as they walk towards the entrance arches of the park:

The Bronze Sun statue, mirrored the same from both directions - perspective in image facing away from the park towards the walkway towards the rest of Disneyland Paris property.

Upon passing the statue, you are greeted by a French Baroque-style building similar in placement to Tokyo Disneysea - to your left is the entrance to the adjoined Hotel, 'Phoebus Palace'.
1000017020.jpg

Pictured, the entrance to the Phoebus Palace. The walkway is directly adjacent to the park entrance arches.

Directly next to this is the entrance to the park, which takes inspiration from the iconic Palace of Versailles. Ticket booths sit outside of the entrance to the park, which is accessed via under-building arches, very similar to the Disneyland Hotel.

Above, the ticket booths at park entrance with arches in the background. Above the arches is the Phoebus Hotel, which cover the top three floors and surrounds the entire entry area.

Upon walking under these arches, you are greeted with a gorgeous French avenue with Baroque architecture adorning all three avenues. Directly through the middle of the entry avenue sits the Sun Wheel, the weenie for the park.

Pictured, the Sun Wheel at the very end of the Avenue.

To both your left and right, the avenue continues up to forest-style greenery at the ends.

Numerous shops line up, with market-style stalls during the Summer months. Ignore the large structure at the back! - as mentioned, some of these images are loosely based on the image in my head (darn AI).

The main retail store within the park sits directly in the centre interlink of the Avenue, 'Curiosités et Cadeaux'.

Pictured, the main retail and gift store for the park. The park avenues would use forced perspective to make the buildings appear taller than they actually are.

And so, this rounds off the first entry area in to the park. Intended as a love letter to France and its lavish and lush architecture and history.

A1: Phoebus Palace
A2: Guest Services/First Aid/Rest Area
A3: Curiosités et Cadeaux
A4: Dining and Retail (1 small boutique-style store, a QS sit-down venue and TS French Cuisine venue)
A5: 'Market Row', with smaller carts and market stalls dotted down the street selling a mixture of different snacks and trinkets.
A6: 'Musée d'Histoire de France', a medium-sized French History Museum with recreations of important French cultural artifacts, models of iconic French architecture and a small 180 degree standing theatre showing French history from Louis XI's reign in 1461 up to modern day. This entire experience would be set across two floors.

I hope you enjoy this project! I've had a lot of fun thinking this one together and I hope you come along for the journey with me :)

Offering 2 spectacular showings every day, Disney's 'Parade of Imagination' is sure to have you dancing, celebrating and wondering at the most powerful aspect inside us all - IMAGINATION!

Made up of 8 floats from across different cultures and Disney stories, the Parade of Imagination runs at 11:30 and 15:30 every day along the Avenue du Triomphe (route marked below).

1000017516.jpg

(Click link below for the headline song for the parade)

Parade of Imagination - Music

I felt super inspired by the wonderful floats in the Rose Parade which is held annually in Pasadena. I have taken some of the floats and gave them a bit of AI-assisted rejigging to give you an idea of the theme of the Parade.

Some of these Parade floats /may/ give you some hints on other areas of the park 👀

1000017515.jpg

The Parade would, of course, be led by Figment, giving him a home-away-from-Epcot within the resort. I actually would also use Figment as perhaps the main mascot for the entire park too - he fits the overarching theme of 'imagination' incredibly well. He also (imo) deserves a chance to really shine under a good attraction again!

Mulan would also find a home in Lands of Imagination. Her float would be based on the Great Stone Dragon, featuring Mushu and Mulan as costume characters.

1000017506.jpg

Mowgli and the Jungle Book float, featuring mechanised King Louie, Kaa and Shere Khan. Costume characters would include Mowgli and Baloo.

1000017497.jpg

Hercules and his Pegasus float. The wings of Pegasus would flap. There would also be a mechanised Pain & Panic, spinning around a wheel helplessly at the back of the float. Costume characters would include Hercules and Megara.

1000017502.jpg

Tiana and her New Orleans Jester float. Mechanised Louis and Ray would appear on the float, with costume characters including Tiana, Dr Facilier and Mama Odie.

1000017507.jpg

Peter Pan and his Neverland float. A giant chameleon on the front of the float with the Lost Boys tree house behind. A mechanised tinkerbell would sit atop the chameleon, flapping her wings. Costume characters to include Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook and Smee.

1000017500.jpg

Ariel and her reef-themed float. Mechanised Flounder, Scuttle and Sebastian would appear, with costume characters including human Ariel and Prince Eric.

1000017509.jpg

Hyacinth Hippo and her Fantasia float. There would be mechanised Hippo dancers on the float too, with a giant one opening and closing its mouth at the forefront. Costume characters would be Hyacinth Hippo and Ben Ali Gator.

There would also be numerous dancers between the floats, performing to an eclectic mixture of music dictated by the floats. The finale, after the Fantasia float, would be a crew of performers dancing along to the 'Power of Imagination' song purpose-created for the parade, with the route closing behind them.
