Disney's JoJo to animate Macy's parade
Star of Disney Channel's 'JoJo's Circus' to be annual Thanksgiving parade's first-ever animated giant helium balloon.
The star of Playhouse Disney's "JoJo's Circus," will be unveiled as a giant helium balloon this fall in the 79th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, officials announced today.
The announcement was made by Disney Channel Worldwide president Rich Ross and Macy's Annual and Special Events group vice president Robin Hall.
The addition of JoJo, "the world's cutest clown girl," and Disney Channel's No. 1 series for preschoolers, marks the first-ever animated giant balloon and the first-ever Disney Channel character to join the iconic parade.
On Thanksgiving Day, her balloon likeness will join the parade "juggling" three brightly colored balls as she travels from the Upper West Side to Herald Square.
The balloon will measure approximately 55 feet long, 32 feet wide and 63 feet high. To add to the juggling motif, one of JoJo's three juggling balls will be a separate balloon flown independently of the others creating the first-ever animated giant helium balloon in the Parade.
