Disney's Boardwalk Inn

I'm in the midst of planning a weeklong stay at the Boardwalk Inn (party of four...2 adults/2 kids). According to some sources all rooms were renovated in 2008 and now feature new furniture, wallpaper, carpeting, flat-screen TVs, etc. However, when I asked the Disney reservationist about this, she responded that Disney reservations aren't given the renovation schedule. She could not confirm that all or some Boardwalk Inn rooms had (or hadn't) been renovated in 2008.

Would anyone know if the renovations have occured in all rooms? We stayed at the Beach Club last March (and loved it) and had planned on staying at the Yacht Club; however, with Stormalong Bay partly closed for refurbishment until April, the Boardwalk has emerged as the logical alternative.

Appreciate any information anyone can provide and recommendations on good rooms/areas at the Boardwalk.

After checking out our reliable, up to date news section on this site, here's what I found...

It shows that as of July 3rd of this year that the renovations had started, but no further mention (that I can see) of completion. The area in the picture in the link is near the Flying Fish Cafe, so perhaps ask to be in that general area?

Was on Concierge level at BoardWalk in October and have some "vacation friends" who work on that l evel. Pete and Jackie said all rooms on the Inn side of the Resort have finished their refurbishment, including the refurbishment in all hallways and common areas. The Resort looks GREAT. It is one fo the best resort refurbs.

Nothing was started on the Villas side, however, as of October 26th.

We stayed there at the end of June into July of this year and thought it was an excellent resort...I cannot wait to go back. I had told someone that as much as I want to plan a trip back to Disney right away that I will wait a little longer so I can stay at the Boardwalk again.

I was wondering if there are photos anywhere that show the renovation of the Inn side. I have looked but could not find anything. I would love to see how they look now, though it will probably just make me want to go back even sooner!
