Disney's Animal Kingdom offering FASTPASS for shows through to end of May 2010

If anyone has gotten these, how do they look? I collect FP and was wondering if they are just blank paper ones or nicer ones like the regular ones.

Does anyone know why they are doing them? I thought May was pretty much considered to be sort of a slower time? I would have loved this at Christmas last year.

I would guess they'll use the generic ones. I have images here:

I don't see the need for Fastpasses for both FotLK and FoW, but the Nemo line can get pretty insane at times so I think it is a good idea. However, I think they should expect lots of complaints from people who stayed in line for a long time just to have to wait for the next show because a large group with fastpasses showed up.

I'm not sure why they're doing this either. Fastpasses for shows have really never worked correctly. The return window has typically been smaller (15 minutes) and guests have to arrive within that window to be admitted because the shows are scheduled whereas rides aren't scheduled (the same way).

As a collector, I just hope the make different graphics for each of the show, but in reality, all this does is try to spread out crowds to the shows. I'm not sure that's really been a problem though except for maybe at Flights of Wonder.

If they want to alter Fastpass at the Animal Kingdom, they should be running it on Primeval Whirl on a daily basis.

Well, I may grab one for the Lion King show, but the other two aren't our cup of tea. I would like to see AK bring back the FP program they tried last year for the other rides though....

I saw that a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering why they were offering FASTPASS for like 4 shows by It's Tough to Be a Bug.

As to why they offer them, it gets people away from rides and into shows. Less time spent in line = more of a chance for people to spend money.

Are you talking about the Centralized Fastpass system for Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest and Dinosaur?

If so, I agree - that makes more sense.

That's an interesting concept. A Fastpass system for shows that doesn't interfere with Fastpass for rides.
