Hello all Disney enthusiasts!

I'm doing a research project for a class I'm taking on Folklore at the University of California Irvine. My project is centered around the urban legends, tales of the supernatural, myths, stories, etc. concerning the Disneyland theme park in CA.

Thus, if anyone has worked at Disneyland in the past (or even if they haven't) please recall any stories like these you have heard and divulge them below! I also welcome stories of Disney's inner workings, etc.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: By posting a story below, you are consenting to have your story most likely reprinted in my report. Your post will be taken an as an acknowledgment of this statement. I will do nothing else with your story besides use it for field research on my topic. I will copy down your name to give you credit for the story, but if you prefer to remain Anonymous, I will give you a fake name. Please Indicate your preference below.

Also, if anyone cares to send me a direct message, I welcome those as well.

Thank you for your time!
- Madeline

For those that have worked at the park, here as some questions to start you out:

How long did you work at Disneyland?

Did you ever hear of anyone who was fired for “breaking the magic?” (IE: characters acting out of character, being inappropriate, etc.)

Did you work there around the time of September 11? How did the park react to these events? Where you allowed to speak of them?

Are there any ghosts that live in Disneyland? If so, who and where?

Have you met or heard of any guests that believed there were ghosts in Disneyland, or that the rides/characters were real and/or haunted?

What are some “Disney secrets” that cast members are not supposed to divulge?

Hey and welcome to the boards!
Anyways, I don't work there at all, but there are some haunted places--especially the Haunted Mansion. I've heard the same stories from both WDW and DL, so I'm not sure which park it's from.

Anyways one of the more famous ones is this...

One day a guest asked park management if she could spread her son's ashes (he just died) while she was on the Haunted Mansion. (That was her son's favorite place and she wanted him to rest where he was the happiest.) Park management of coarse said no, so she didn't.

A few months later, she went to Disneyland again, this time without asking and dumped them throughout the the attraction (specifically the attic scene).

Now supposedly guests riding the attraction will sometimes see a small boy in the attraction (sometimes running around the ballroom scene or crying at the end of the attraction). So they tell the castmembers, and they check it out and they can find no one.

Ok. That's that story. Another one is this... (again, this may be DL or WDW as I've heard the different stories from different places).

During the attraction, someone decided to get out of their doombuggie and get an upclose and personal look at Madam Leota. Well as you know, her table is up on a long pole and there is a story drop between the table and the doombuggies.

So the person fell to their death.

Then when castmembers shut down the ride, they would hear music playing from the Seance Room. No one could find a source of audio. Sometimes it would be so loud, that they put a speaker right about where the sound was comming from to drown out the noise.

Ok. That's it. Good luck with your report!!:)
I may go and try to find some more later.
