Disneyland this weekend

I've been given the opportunity to spend one day in Anaheim this weekend (mainly Saturday)....Any locals know of any reason why Disneyland should be especially busy? I can't recall Disneyland in the off-season on a weekend, I assume it's busier, but what is Disneyland's version of busy. 20 minutes? 1.5 hrs? Just curious.

I'm not so sure that you can consider this weekend to be the off-season. Christmas at the Disneyland Resort has been hyped relentlessly in the So Cal media. You can expect thousands of the locals (AP holders) to show up on Sat. to see the Christmas parade in addition to the holiday versions of HM and IASW.

Based on my past experiences, you probably want to be at the park early, as it most likely will begin to fill up by the early afternoon. If the crowds become unbearable, you may want to go across to DCA and check out the new Monster's Inc dark ride and the Aladdin stage show.

Be patient and have a great time.

PS The forecast for this weekend is for possible rain.

Yeah, I noticed that. I don't think I will run over to DCA, I only have one day and can't justify $83 for a one day park hopper pass. Oh well, it's Disneyland! If I have to spend a day amongst California crowds and congestion, there is no better place to be! :D

Well, the crowds were high but manageable. I always forget how AWESOME that park is. Sure the castle is small, but the show is fantastic. Every ride in tip-top shape - especially the HM with the holiday overlay. That was my first time with that it blew me out of the water. Better Buzz, MR TOAD!, the only thing that was lacking was the firework show. However it was windy so that may have affected it. The new Space Mountain was smooth and fast, Indy.....If only MK could be only half what DL is, I wouldn't feel jipped at my next WDW vacation. :p (Well, maybe not jipped! :D) The DLR Downtown Disney is great. Good food, good spirits, all close together. The grandness of WDW is fun and it definitely holds the magic better, but it is nice to just walk out the park and jump in another or get some good food.
Good times were had by all.

It's funny, I was about to send you a PM to ask how your weekend went and I came across your most recent post. Disneyland is even a more magical place during the holiday season. It's good to hear that you enjoyed yourself so much.
